Very interesting Ray. So sad when you realise how many amazing performances have been wiped

The one scanned by laser? Ha! So they completed that? That will be interesting. Judging by the state of the source material I guess the recovered images aren't good enough to broadcast but will make an interesting dvd feature

If only they had kept as many TOTP's as Play School from that period! I managed to find info on the existing colour editions of Play School from 1968-9, thanks to TV Brain. Here's a list of the surviving editions that were kept on Colour VT from this period: Episode No* | TX Date | 1020 | 04/06/1968 | 1045 | 09/07/1968 | 1046 | 10/07/1968 | 1108 | 04/10/1968 | 1204 | 17/02/1969 | 1206
| 19/02/1969 | 1207 | 20/02/1969 | 1208
| 21/02/1969 | 1249 | 21/04/1969 | 1314 | 21/07/1969 | 1315 | 22/07/1969 | 1318 | 25/07/1969 | 1319 | 28/07/1969 | 1321 | 30/07/1969 | 1323 | 01/08/1969 | 1340 | 26/08/1969 | 1341 | 27/08/1969 | 1342 | 28/08/1969 | 1389 | 11/11/1969 | 1391 | 18/11/1969 |

Perhaps we should ask why Phil mentioned the missing episodes knowing that this would whip up the usual storm? I can't see the point in bringing it up if he were in any sort of negotiations to get them back.

Can anyone tell what the situation is with the colour steptoes?

author=" martinjwills"]Phil [in a radio interview] has stated that he will now only return complete stories, or episodes that will make complete stories[/quote] Which radio interview was this. I find it highly unlikely he would say this. Why would he only return complete stories/episodes when every doctor who fan is crying out for any snippet they can get. There isn't much point in holding on to recovered material

can anyone tell me why the end of the show with Slade singing Merry Xmas looked like a rehearsal, it was very roughly filmed and seemed to spend more time on filming the audience than the band

I can understand the need to keep some of his work secret but it is frustrating that you never get to know what he has found other than Dr Who. I wonder if there will ever be a proper disclosure about his work and recoveries. Im also curious as to how all his work is funded. There must be significant costs in doing this work on top of the need to earn a living

Difficult to know whether the author really knows what Dave Clark has or whether he's just speculating on the basis that Dave Clark owns ready steady go. I must admit it is odd that he owns it and doesn't exploit it. Still, nobody lives for ever.......

Great interview. We are all very lucky to have a chap like this looking for missing TV. I look forward to hearing the full story of his hunt for missing episodes one day, hopefully in a TV documentary
