I should know better than to reference other media sites but this current drought of hopeful trails to missing episodes sometimes leads to desperate grasping of straws. so, does anyone place any store by the teasers for the late May Fantom event with a succession of teasers on twitter featuring Evil, Snowmen and Wheel? And Fury. Conjecture revolves around the fact that key individuals linked to these stories will be guests. The pessimist in me says that it's the guests that determine the teasers as in "we've got x so let's reference one of their stories". The optimist tells me that some news about specific stories is why certain guests are involved. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm suppressing my hopes.

Most recent returned episodes are from Season 5, and most of the probable episodes to be recovered are also from this season, with the can from Fury turning up without the episode inside, with Web 3, [which is the only missing episode we know to have existed in 2011] the other 12 [Snowman & Wheel] in the same batch. We will have to wait for that unexpected moment from TIEA

They're just referencing the stories to generate hype for the event, I'd be extremely surprised if anything was actually announced (but also very happy, but I won't get my hopes up on such slender evidence).

The event is about missing episodes, so the posters and the guests just reflect that. I believe events like this have been held before, all without anything being found.
Personally I don't read anything into any of this.

A poster for Macra was posted yesterday on Fantom's twitter. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I do think it's odd with all the missing posters.
I really am grabbing at straws here, but if (VERY BIG "IF") something is announced on May 27th, it will likely be Web 3. I can imagine Phil Morris just really casually mentioning that the print was safely in his possession. Now that really would be unexpected, making it known just like that!

It's a one-day unofficial event focusing on the subject of missing episodes. The series of posters are simply drumming up interest for the event.

I suppose I think it's odd just because the subject of missing episodes is such a delicate one. Odd maybe isn't the best way to describe it. I don't think fantom mean any harm by tweeting the posters, but they seem to be confusing a lot of people. But it I think you are certainly correct about them just drumming up interest.

I'm not sure why anyone would be confused by them. They're being posted on Fantom's Facebook page, the masthead of which is advertising the Missing Who event and each poster is being put up with a link to the event as well. The intent seems to be pretty clear.

The intent seems to be pretty clear. I think it's just a case of a small group of people say something might be going on, and then it spreads. Still, I am excited to hear what Phil Morris can update us on.

Beyond this forum I don't do social media so it was stumbling across the fantom stuff quite by accident that led to my kite flying. However one thing leads to another and it was seeing Philip Morris's recent photos of film tapes that taken with his appearance at this fantom event that struck me as coincidental and perhaps purely coincidental. But then hope overcame logic and here we are. Only a couple of weeks to find out something or nothing!

Fantom also released a poster for "The Celestial Toymaker". I think it's pretty unlikely for that one to come back either so, by connection, I'd say that the others are still missing too.
Just themed posters for the theme of the event. Missing stuff.

I agree. You'd be highly unlikely to advertise an event about missing episodes by using anything other than pictures from the missing episodes or the guest speakers, I'd have thought. The "please buy tickets and come to our event to talk about missing episodes" is a much more likely message in my view.
/edit: if there's anything in Phil Morris's recent pictures then it's most likely to be because he wants to use those pictures. It's possible it's the warehouse at Jos from when he found Enemy and Web, it's a warehouse at TIEA or even that it's a set of pictures he just liked the idea of using and he felt like posting them.

The appearance of new "missing" posters appear to have halted ... at least temporarily.

Back in mid-February on his FB page, Phil Morris posted this picture with the comment "Maybe, just maybe..." I am waiting to hear a story about an episode of 'The Underwater Menace' - either that or he's found a bunch of CD-ROM computer games in their original shrink wrap in a tip near Wigan.
