That man is a hero. Interesting bit about the space pirates being held really late in Zambia and the complete debunking of the supposed destruction of the Hartnell episodes in Sierra Leone civil war.

Great interview. He's obviously found some more and is thinking long and hard about how to present them to the general public, thus making it an event. Does he really need to? Of course he does! He's travelled half way round the world to find this buried treasure so he deserves to have his moment of glory. Who wouldn't? But I hope the number of missing episodes goes below 97 soon....

Also heartening to hear that negotiations to get back WOF3 will be resolved soon. He's still on it and hasn't given up on getting it back.

The phrase on wof 3 is "we're getting close to". He also said that if something was coming, it would be a suprise and unexpected. As much as i would love it resolved soon, i wouldnt conclude anything further than that, as phil is an optimistic kind of guy.

Great interview. We are all very lucky to have a chap like this looking for missing TV. I look forward to hearing the full story of his hunt for missing episodes one day, hopefully in a TV documentary

Thanks to George for posting this podcast link to which I've just listened. Without over-analysing Philip M's comments the impression is one of optimism. I think the little flourish at the end about being artistic and not wanting to do things in the same way is intriguing. I'm reading that as "how" the news will be released compared to WoF and EotW rather than anything to do with ongoing searches and therefore there is something to share. Wouldn't have thought that a single missing episode in itself would warrant the comments made (even though we would all welcome that of course)... so... let the guessing commence. Hope it's Patrick Troughton find and apologies to everyone who wants William Hartnell!!!

Inclined to agree with those counselling caution. The most uplifting thing about the interview is the suggestion that the ownership and/or location of WoF3 has been determined, but the nebulous way in which this comment was put leaves it unclear as to whether negotiations are close to being completed (or indeed, whether or not they have even started).
This said, the comment about wanting to make the next reveal a surprise (implying a discovery) is, well, a surprise. Either Mr Morris really is having us on - his predisposition to that is something only those who know him can opine on - or...
... he has found something.

I think I'd be most surprised by a strong rumour, with dates and episodes, which came true !

I think I'd be most surprised by a strong rumour, with dates and episodes, which came true ! I doubt I'd believe anything if it wasn't confirmed by a reputable source who'd actually seen the print.

I didn't get that all .. all I got was he was getting close. (Which means anything). Did he say anything else I missed?

He's been digging up rubbish dumps, even. That's dedication.

He's been digging up rubbish dumps, even. That's dedication. Not quite as dedicated as going round Car Boot Sales on a Sunday morning expecting to run into episodes from Evil of the Daleks...
