Maybe its worth asking them again, after this length of time I'm sure they've forgotten about it

Maybe you could drop a line to the BBC about it Ray?
If you have a sound recording, it's worth talking to Charles Norton and his team or email Chris Perry at : chris@lostshows.com

Yes good luck with this. Quite a thing to possibly recover a whole program thanks to YouTube

The alleged 2nd copy relates to a supposed quote on facebook where Mr Morris said they had found a 2nd copy. One of the many rumours kicking around the internet

Interesting to note that on a certain well know auction website someone is selling dvd copies of Ready Steady Go shows claiming that these programs are in the public domain and therefore its ok for him to sell pirate copies of them. The sellers sighting a law known as the Berne act which he claims makes it ok for him to do so. Anybody got any ideas about this? sounds improbable to me but then I know nothing about copyright law

I haven't been writing much on this forum since the whole omnirumour business but i have been lurking here and at some other Dr Who forums. I have to say this forum talks a lot more sense than some others i won't name

Thanks for sharing these pictures Paul, fascinating to see and really heart breaking. Just wondering if you could answer a couple of questions? Do you think the films demise was caused partly by its can being broken or do you think the film would have degraded like this even if the can was intact? Also what happens to this film now, will it be stored somewhere in the hope that new technology may some day be able to restore it or will it eventually be binned?

Perhaps the stuff most at risk is programs recorded on home video. I can see somebody saving film cans in a house clearance to put on eBay but I expect any old home recorded video tapes would get binned. That's a real shame as some 70s TOTP have been recovered from home video and didn't IOTD part 1 (in colour) come back that way?

I agree but it does seem an unusual item to pluck out of thin air

While reading an online blog about the Beatles i came across this comment in an article about possible extras for a Paul McCartney dvd ' My Love Top of the Pops (recently found in the BBC Lagos, Nigeria Archive)' I havent heard this mentioned anywhere else but wonder if it could be part of Phil Morris's supposed haul? Link here to the whole article wogew.blogspot.co.uk/
