Assume you are setting out on a multi year multi country search of archives across the world.
At the start of this you would assume that finding no episodes would be disappointing and finding 106 would be ecstasy. At what number of newly discovered episodes would you be happy with your many years of searching? 1? 9? Or some other number?

If you found 106 missing episodes that would be amazing... as that would be all 97 missing, plus 9 previously un-documented episodes!!! ;o)
Joking aside, i am happy with any. If i was the actual searcher however, i would probably be hoping to at least complete a story.

It will come down to private collectors soon i reckon. Most of the culprits as to say have been searched already ! But they can spring up in unlikely places as we have seen.

It is a fairly logical though if you get down into the nitty gritty. If they are going to show up, look for old BBC buildings.

Being logical just allows you to be wrong with authority!!!!

Logic does help. Orphan episodes come back from collectors, complete (or almost complete) stories come back from broadcasters.

Thats true Scott........ True looking threw former BBC building is a great idea in the U.K. But for the rest of the world you would need to expand your horizions. Non tradional search methods are expensive. Flying from Los Angeles to Manila via Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific for example cost $1,243. This does not include the costs of domestic tickets to meet the international flight as wll as hotel, food transportation and guides while searching. Still I dont see many people actaully doing non tradional searching. Granted not every one can get on a plane once a year and check there pet country of choice but Tiawan proves that episodes can turn up in countrys that did not air them. Who knows, perahps this year will be the year my luck changes?

I'm not sure if we are all starting to get a bit spoilt with nearly a dozen episodes being found in the last few years. I remember reading forums back in October where people were moaning about only nine episodes being found ?! I'd be getting the champagne out if only two seconds of The Massacre were found. Who fans are pretty lucky compared to fans of other shows.

Once you've got started on missing episodes, it's never enough. It's like the buzz you get from buying something. Wow, I've got! Next day, ho hum. OK, old TV shows aren't quite like that, you can put one away for ten years until you've forgotten it, and then watch it again. But unless I get Web 3 soon I'm going to go all mardy!

Web part 3 will be at the top of my search list next Tuesday after I step off of the plane in Manila. After finaly seeing the DVD last night (or very early this morning) I can say that after seeing the last few animatied episdoes this recon is a step back that slows down an otherwise outstanding story. . . If I find it Ill dedicate the find to you Sue
