simon collins. I haven't heard of the "evil" project. Do you by chance have a link (s) for more info? Perhaps it should be “Power” ? Power would make more sense, but the post specifically said "evil" implying Animation of the Evil of the Daleks (or so I took it). LOL, perhaps "Power" was an "Evil" project. It just made me wonder if there were plans to animate EOTD that I didn't know about. I remember reading a few comments on articles about the power animation referring to EOTD potentially being pursued in 2018. I assumed it was wishful thinking--the comment above made me wonder.

The best of real Dr Who is at least as good as anything TV produces nowadays. I can't agree with you more.

In an earlier PM interview, (IIRC) it was stated he was contacted by a collector that wanted to discretely purchase any all ME prints he had found to that point (I think this was before the discovery of enemy & web and not necessarily the same chap who nicked web 3). Who knows if this person has not at some point already succeeeded elsewhere! Good Point.

With the hording of Episodes, I really don't think its that probable that a print would be held for a ransom, thinking they would make $$ (aside from someone who is ignorant of copyright law). Its just as likely "if" someone was knowingly sitting on one, they would retain it simply to hold something unique that nobody else has. Not all fans will return for the benefit of others--just keep it and think "its mine-not theirs." This is common with collectors of rarities. Its not always about the monetary value. My personal feeling about Web3 is that its being held because of it status as (potentially) one of a kind/last one in existence.

I read on the forum a while back that it was suspected that with a large country like Australia, multiple prints would be required to broadcast in different time zones. If so, by now they would likely be junked, but there is a chance something remains.

Interesting.
Raises a sliver of hope something could be lurking in a collection down under.
Thank you for sharing!

Phil [in a radio interview] has stated that he will now only return complete stories, or episodes that will make complete stories I hope this isn't literally the case. It means, theoretically, he could find:- 6 out of 7 missing Marco Polo episodes 3 out of 4 missing Myth Makers episodes 5 out of 6 missing Power of the Daleks episodes 3 out of 4 missing Macra Terror episodes 5 out of 6 missing Evil of the Daleks episodes and he wouldn't return them? It sounds possible. I may be in the minority, but I believe he has a few orphans that might only see the light of day once the search is "over", say couple more decades.

I stand corrected.
Amazing. I didn't think there was another print of it was floating around. Raises a few questions about its history/source. Would love to hear what some of the DW inner circle had to say about it.
Cheers to you Ronnie!

Likely a dupe made in the 80's.

Likely destroyed, but not for sure. Possible they lie in darkness waiting for the light of day or were scooped up by a collector. These are very unlikely, but within the realm of possibilities.

Excellent work John!
Still holding hope that Singapore prints, fate unknown, may filter back if they (some or all) still exist.

Why re-release EOTW as SE? Its only 5 years (almost) since it resurfaced. Other than a few extras, there is nothing new to add. Its not as if the origional release is scarce (at least in R1) on the web. Feels like the BBC is grasping at straws on what to release for DW classics. I'd be far more likely to shell out again for an animation of UM 1 & 4 to replace the lack luster release in 2015 than another copy of EOTW with no new "serial material."

Ice Warriors mostly survived and fury didn't, likely by luck. Nobody got around to disposing of them before the end to the junking because they were so far back in the cupboard. Fury can EP 6 survived when its contents didn't because at the time the empty can itself was perceived to have more value than the film it contained.
Hope springs eternal that we will get a few orphans back that are currently sitting on a nice safe shelf in a clean, well ventilated, climate controlled environment in a mislabeled can between the slow scan of the first moon landing and super bowl II network broadcast.
