PM was tracking Snowman and Wheel in one of his last interviews, but likely a wild goose chase. After reading the article, I don't think there is any connection between this and a potential Wheel recovery--but likely to kindle some rumors... Its been so silent, rumor/lead wise, id be surprised if it didn't.
I also prefer the telesnap recons to animation as they feel closer to the original. However, since I have the loose cannon recon of Wheel, animation would be welcome as something different (I like both Telesnap recon of Power and animation--they have a distinctively different Ora to them).
Thankx for the info Dylan!

SEELEY: You soldiers looking for them thunderballs, eh? FORBES: That's our business. SEELEY: Reckon if I know where to find one of them things, it'd be worth a tidy old bit, eh? FORBES: You know where one landed? SEELEY: I didn't say that, did I, son? I'm just asking. FORBES: Yeah, well, don't ask. Go on, push off. Just started Spearhead from Space lastnight.

Returning it to the archive would earn you name recognition within the classic DW community, but not likely any money. Perhaps you could sell it to the fellow who kyped web 3, then secretly tip PM off--have your cake and eat it too. I've looked through film cans since I learned of all this in the 90s, but sadly nothing... except a chance to educate others on the plight of lost film and DW ME's in particular. If someone were to locate something i would recommend acquiring it without acknowledging its missing status, contact Paul V to quietly return it to good hands ASAP, and then google the best methods of storing film for the time being to avoid degradation. I am always pleased to know people are quietly looking. You never know when a unique print will appear, or where.

Ice Warriors 2.
Not my fav, but wouldn't turn it down.
I was hoping for a serial with no current representation.

I have faith it will be. The tenacity of Phil Morris will bring it to the archive, complete and in good condition....along with many other lost, misplaced, or hidden treasures!

I always assumed DMP, POTD and EOTD were deemed useless earlier that others because of the moratorium on their sales from Terry Nation.
Thank you, stephen macpherson, for the excerpt.

Along with the cold trail from Singapore, do we have any kind of trail for the prints that were sent to Zambia? I know it is noted that PM stated they do not hold Dr Who prints as of 2008.

Do we know (or suspect) where TP 1-3 came from? Not likely to be the Australian prints as records indicate a return to BBC in 75. The New Zealand set sent to Singapore in 72 and possibly returned? Off the shelf viewing copies?
It would be interesting if any recovered prints could be traced or suspected (reasonably) from the Singapore load. On the reverse, the lack of ANY prints from Singapore may shed a ray of hope as well.
Grasping at straws--obviously these avenues were likely pursued to dead ends and exhausted long ago, this batch is probably the best hope for TP or POTD, and very slim at that.

I agree. There is no way of knowing if the blue peter extract came from that batch. It is equally plausible that all 4 were held and ep 4 walked off, with the source of the blue peter footage being a different set. Records are a bit hit and miss--all we have are theories and educated guesses. The theory is very possible and plausible, but only circumstantial evidence as far as I know.
I thought PM stated that Singapore prints were returned to London in the interview where he also said the Sierra Leone prints were also sent to London? Perhaps he said he "believed" rather than he "knew" i cant remember exactly. Have to look.
I still cross my fingers that a long forgotten cache still exists.....

EOTW 6: the end of the recon says something like "salamander accidentally bumps the controls" when infact he reaches down, pulls a random switch during the struggle and the Tardis takes off with doors open.
The telesnap of Salamander flying off in time and space has those white spots on it...until i saw the ep, i assumed it was damage or an artifact on the telesnap itself, not a visual effect.
After seeing WOF 1, I had assumed they set up the cliff hanger better at the end of EOTW 6. At the end, as Salamander spins off in time and space, it is not well conveyed that the Tardis and its occupants are in dire straights.
The VERY BEST surprise was the recovery of the full Serial itself. Always loved the audio of the serial from lost in time, never expected to see the full product with my own eyes!

I thought that shot was lifted from the footage from the War Games for the recon(s) (which was likely from Fury originally). Correct me if im wrong.

Interesting. TY for Info
I was not poking fun at your comment, I just enjoyed the mental images of film buffs chasing trucks, blockading roads, strong-arming drivers etc.
Its too bad this didn't happen when 95% of the DuMont Television archive was dumped in the east river in the 1970s.

"Look at what happened to WOF 3-heartbreaking and criminal. Sheer selfish vandalism." Can we try and keep a bit of perspective here please? Opportunistic thievery! Interesting.... If Web 3 had been 'pilfered' back in the 70's it would likely be applauded as it was saved from oblivion, Since Web 3 was 'Liberated' 40+ years later it is selfish... I have often wondered, PM stated he was contacted by a collector who wanted to discretely purchase any and all Dr Who recovered (cant remember exact verbiage) and Web 3 was taken before the haul was repatriated, it begs the question does this individual, or individuals have any other material? Hopefully PM can shake them down as it were. It was stated on another thread about private collectors that they want entire stories and that orphaned episodes are of little value. I do believe this to be true but it seems to neglect a few other collector types. 1) The Dr Who fan who would relish in holding unique material that nobody else has; 2) The collector who collects rare, unique, or one-of-a-kind items i.e. doesn't care much for film prints, but if it is the only copy in existence, they would gladly put it between a Gutenberg bible and a three chambered peanut in their safety deposit closet; 3) The hoarder, someone who doesn't care about film prints or doctor who, but saw a pile of film cans in the dumpster and thought they would be better off in their basement.
