I watched The Wheel in Space again recently and I wondered whether anyone knew whether the model shot of the Tardis landing on the sea at the beginning of Fury from the Deep was the same insert as was played when the Tardis takes off again at the end of Fury/the beginning of the Wheel in Space only played backwards.

Undoubtedly. The telesnap of the sequence in the first episode of The Wheel in Space matches the Fury footage, as seen in The War Games

I thought that shot was lifted from the footage from the War Games for the recon(s) (which was likely from Fury originally). Correct me if im wrong.

It makes sense as since the clip took much budget there would be no reason to make fresh footage.
Would it be fair to say that by the troughton years, they have tended to not make fresh beginning/ending footage?
