If I remember correctly, You're referring to 'Dom Issigri' played by Esmond Knight.

An interesting question, but rather a redundant one I feel. While it would be tempting to play a missing episode and be the first to see 'episode XXXXXX' of Doctor Who (or from whatever series takes your fancy), the chances are that you would just damage the fillm/tape you had bought and render it useless for the rest of us (unless you are a restoration expert). I would strongly suggest that any finds, even if known to be in the archives, be viewed and graded through the proper channels (no pun intended ITV!) to ascertain authenticity and quality of the print/tape. After that, please feel free to enjoy your unique/common/better print/worse print/pirate/x th generation video or film copy as you see fit!

A surprise for me was the set design for the 'Tomb', especially the Ealing filmed sequences; it looked far more expensive than usual. Also, Joseph Furst's performance in UM ep 2, while still a bit pantomime, is far more nuanced than the perceived poor acting and OTT "NOTHINK IN ZE VORLD CAN STOP ME NOOOWWW" from the longer extant ep 3. Having said that, my biggest surprise was how well EotW3 fitted into the whole story (I LOVE Griffin!) - before it was a 'boring' and 'talky' episode and now it provides a welcome and comic interlude between all the action and intrigue happening around it.

Hmm, it's a tough choice (and an excellent question). On balance though, I'd rather have less complete stories and more representation of completely missing stories. My reasoning? Well, I'd rather have every story represented in the archives, even if by only one episode, so to get an example of how that story looked and was acted. While it would be nice to have more complete stories, most of them already have episodes in the archives and I'd rather see the completely missing stories represented.

I must have imagined then Paul saying a while back that online fan speculation about missing episodes talk does not harm negoations. What I said is true. However, that was specific to the Web and Enemy returns. When the speculation was rife, the bulk of the films had already been returned. Philip Morris has though said that rumours have affected his work and I trust Phil. However, we are talking about a rumour of two, possibly more episodes which in my reading of it is being spread maliciously. I don't know why, but there is no real evidence. If there was a measure of its credibility, a scale by which it could be judged, it would be in minus figures. All we have heard is words and that raises peoples hopes which as we know causes people to get frustrated and annoyed. I'd rather not add to the hysteria so I will delete anything that falls short of genuine debate. When it's all 'I am certain because...', it won't last long here. As for censorship, well I know that you don't like it. This is not a democracy, there is no right of free speech on this board. So my suggestion would be to focus on the subject of the thread and debate and discuss. But three years ago discussions became very circular and I'm not going to let that happen again. Paul Well said Paul. There may or may not be more episodes out there; we'll never know. But the more we debate and desire the 'best' episode and bring it into public attention; the more likely it will be hidden away if someone has, or has found, it.

After watching the first three parts of The power of the daleks in colour, I was thinking to myself, are they going to do more of this kind of animation technique Release a Black and White version then release a colour version later Noooooooooooooooo not THE colour PROBE! Animate the B&W stories to keep them true as can be.

I remember them as well, and was very annoyed that they stopped; it was, back in the day, the only way to see the unreleased episodes. But as far as I can remember nothing has been released. (I await, with girded loins, for others to prove me wrong!)

Everything that exists. I mean, surely there's only one answer to this question! Ditto! Especially all the clips from now missing eps that somehow, despite all the odds, managed to survive.

My LiT is stored after 'The War Games' as I think it provides a fitting coda to the B&W era and reminds me of what was lost.

We could start an online petition to have Nov.23rd named 'Least Likely to See an Announcement' day? To use the title of a book series, how about the 23rd Nov being called 'Nothing New to Say About Doctor Who'?

Personally, I believe there are missing episodes still out there waiting to be discovered, there could be 97 or the could be 0. However, as we can never prove an unknown, we will never know for certain if the latest find is the last extant episode in existence or if there are more to be discovered.

Another shot lost in editing was a Sea Devil in The Stones Of Blood. Really? That's a new one to me. I've obviously been living under a rock somewhere or my memory is worse than I remember!

I voted to keep it back and I know I'm probably in the minority with this. Personally, I'd rather see discoveries kept quiet with a chance of more being made available than a quick fix that scuppers any further investigations. Yeah, all I really need is to know that an episode is safe and in good hands and has 0 chance of being lost or damaged. I don't need it released on dvd within a month, just a quiet word on a forum like this saying it's safe. Even a quiet word on a forum can hamper an episodes chances of being returned. I rather nothing until the full (or almost full) story or whatever clips found were returned.
