That didn't quite work the way I intended, but it's a good place to start.

Official trailer for Shada
I am quite looking forward to this. It suggests Power was successful enough to at least warrant another animated feature. Hopefully it will continue and we'll get other stories animated. And by the looks of Shada it means we might get serials that have existing episodes in them already.

Not quite "Missing Episode" in the sense of broadcasted material that is no longer in the Archives, but it's great to see this classic completed in animated form. Hope it does well.

Interesting. I've been watching through Classic Who for the first time and I'm on that season right now. I'll have to decide if I should watch/listen to the reconstruction, skip it and continue on with my watch and wait for the animated version, or just stop watching and wait for the animation. I've been on such a role lately that I think I'll watch what we've got and catch up on the animation whenever it's out.
Really excited for this! I hope they make more animations in the future. Evil of the Daleks would be near the top of my wish list.

Well if you wanted to really re-create the old school experience what I would do is what fans had no choice to do -- skip Shada and be curious about it. Get a delight when you reach the 5 Doctors And then sometime later watch Shada. In fact, thinking about it, I'm glad I experienced it that way, because it sure did make the 5 Doctors seem very special at the time.

How much footage was actually shot for Shada before it was abandoned? If I remember correctly all the location filming and one studio day was completed.

How much footage was actually shot for Shada before it was abandoned? Doing a quick tot up, the existing footage in each episode (including the completed opening credits and recaps) roughly amounts to: Part 1 - 20' 00" Part 2 - 15' 45" Part 3 - 15' 00" Part 4 - 11' 55" Part 5 - 10' 05" Part 6 - 10' 45" If you take the ideal BBC-specified episode length of 24' 30" as the norm, the total running time for a six-parter would be around 147 minutes. That means that approximately 56% of Shada was completed back in 1979. Ish.

Also, the music and special effects were missing. So less than 56% completed.
