Wasn't that my thread? In any case, I stand by my original choices.

I've voted for TDMP 12 as I'd love to see if it's as good as the audio makes out. Otherwise, I'd vote for any story that didn't have any extant episodes; just so we could get a glimpse at what we are missing.

in the first 'Power' story Pat Troughton's Doctor had just 'rejuvenated' (not regenerated - a key difference) I don't think there is one iota of canonical evidence to support this theory (which in 1982 probably seemed like a good way for the originator of it to argue for an extra regeneration, but that's all). If you watch (or in some cases listen) to them all in order, the word 'regeneration' doesn't appear until 'Planet of the Spiders'. So who knows (pun intended) what the production team wanted.

I've always thought that The Space Pirates would be more popular if it was found, as apart from Episode Two, we don't really have any idea what the rest of the story even looks like, so I think that if it ever is found in full the visuals will redeem it. I quite agree. I've always enjoyed 'The Space Pirates' on audio but the extant episode just doesn't grab my attention. It was the same with 'The Enemy of the World'; I loved the audio but the one remaining episode dragged a bit as it was viewed out of context. Now though, the story just gets better with the visuals to match and ep 3 fits nicely into the story. To answer the original question: I would like to have 'The Massacre' ep 4 (The Bell of Doom) back as it sounds great and we all know how well the BBC did/does 'costume drama'.

The sequence (that I know only from reading the novelisation of Power) where the daleks reassure the human colony leader that "we are your servants" ... Yeah, right. I think the bit I'd definitely like to see is the conveyer belt sequence. It was all on film and pretty psychological as well as a bit gruesome so surprised it wasn't edited by overseas censors. You would think that would double chances of survival especially if the rumour that the film inserts were still in the Archive in 1981 were true? I thought parts of that sequence survived or am I mixing it up with the 'Daleks conquer and destroy' clip?

3] Maggie Harris walking into the sea - did it look as scary as it sounds (or as described)? I have speculated about that one myself quite a few times. You and me both, mate. I have a feeling though; like 'Tomb of the Cybermen', it may be far better in our imaginations than what we would see on-screen.

Thank you all for your considered and interesting answers.
Since starting this thread, I've thought of a few more I'd like to see:
1] The backgammon game between the 1st Doctor and Kubali Khan - just to see the 1st Doctors reactions to the bets placed.
2] Frederick Jeager's impression of Hartnell from 'The Savages' - did he get the physical aspects correct?
3] Maggie Harris walking into the sea - did it look as scary as it sounds (or as described)?
4] (Finally, phew!) Dom Issigri - purely because no-one seems to know what he looked like.
Thanks again for contributing to this thread.

Having recently re-watched 'Lost in Time' and the censor clips contained therein; it got me thinking...
What clip from a missing episode would you most like to see?
I would like to see the 'time destructor' sequences from 'The Dalek Masterplan' as they sound so eerie on audio.
Any thoughts on what others might compare?

Well someone has to say it "I bet the new series when Russell T Davies etc took over was loved by all and not a single complaint, after all look at the budget they had, must have been even better than all that wiped '80's series" Nah, I don't think they could compare (even with a better budget) to Hartnell's 'Farewell Great Macedon' and Troughton's 'The Prison in Space'; classic stories, both of them.

I voted for 'The Dalek's Masterplan' (and by proxy, I suppose, 'Mission to the Unknown' as I would hate to see the prequel unseen) as I would love to see more of Mavic Chen played by the late, great Kevin Stoney. His appearances in the surviving episodes are a joy and he bounces off Hartnell superbly. Failing that, Web 3; just so as we can complete the story.

Unless I'm being particularly thick, I didn't see any revelations in "Face The Raven", massive or otherwise. Nor did I, Andy. Then again, it sent me to sleep so perhaps the massive revelation was that it proved to be massively overrated. Does that mean you both missed the series 1-6 box sets subliminal adverts?

The latest issue of DWM promises a 'Massive Revelation' in its preview of the episode 'Face the Raven'. Dare I hope that it might be a clip from a hitherto-believed-missing episode?. OK so I'm almost certainly clutching at straws, but I'm just trying to cheer myself up after the Web 3 situation and the Underwater Menace DVD that seems to have failed to live up to some peoples' expectations! Nah, the revelation is that the aliens have been recording B&W Doctor Who from space and are now selling complete series 1-6 box sets (with generous extras)!
