Well, I was lucky enough to get my dream story back thanks to Phillip Morris! The one I would like to see back most of all now is the abominable snowmen. The existing episode has heaps of atmosphere. I reckon it would be a true classic.

How many ways can we make to torture ourselves....? Impossible not to vote of course. I've plumped for Power of the Daleks as it introduces Patrick T, ranks as joint best Dalek story ever (ties with Evil) and the best Dalek line in "I am your servant". Yeah, right! But the proper answer is that I want ALL of the above to be found and if santa doesn't deliver this year then I might start to question his existence....2016 will be 50th anniversary since Power was first screened so...

Aaarrrggghhh! No fair!
I voted forMaster Plan, mainly because it would return the most missing episodes. Evil would be my second choice.

Greg H - I love both the Yeti stories but actually prefer Snowmen; for it's atmosphere/setting & most of all for Wolfe Morris' performance as Padmasambhava/the Great intelligence; which ( from ep 2 / soundtrack/ LC recon / some very blurry memorys of it in 1967 ) is to me the best performance of an adversary of the Doctor in the whole of 'Doctor Who'. Only the Great Intelligence aspect is an adversary of course; but I'm sure you know what I mean.

I voted for The Power of the Daleks. I think Evil would be a close second with Master Plan in third.

My vote for Snowmen stands, but I would love to see Evil or Fury again. I'm lucky that I can vaguely remember Evil first (& second) time around. TBH I can't really remember Fury. Power is an interesting one, would it be as good as people think? I wonder. I've said this before, I know but IMHO first stories with new Doctors, (Hartnell excluded) have always seemed a bit iffy to me mainly because of the new actor finding his way with bedding in the new character, I didn't like Spearhead, loathed Robot, etc but rated other serials by Jon Pertwee & Tom Baker. All I can really remember of Power is the negative reaction of my Dad to Pat Troughton's OTT performance and watching the first episode on a 1950's 9" screen TV staying with friends of my Parents in Croydon. The story on its own looks good, and Pat is still my favourite Doctor so someone needs to find a copy so we can see!

The Massacre - Because I want to see the scene at the end where Hartnell does the speech in the Tardis about being "left alone". The Savages - Because I've always wanted to see Hartnell when he says the line "What did you say ?" in disgust"

Ugh, I must abstain - it is impossible for me.
Would the following polls be of interest: For each of the stories without any episodes recovered, what single episode of that story would you most like to see recovered? For instance, although I imagine everyone would want Episode 1 of The Power of the Daleks, I personally would have a problem missing out virtually every other episode - especially the cliffhangers to episodes 2, 4, and 5.

Yes, there is much to indicate that Abominable would have been one of the all time greats in my opinion. It's a bit of a case of the curse of the Troughtons though; what's left seems awesome but there isn't much around. Although that said, Troughton's run certainly is a lot more represented than it once was. I think with Abominable, if the standard of the existing episode is upheld over the length of the entire story (which I suspect from the audio that it is) that it would be a particularly strong example of 60s who. We may never get to know but there is always that chance. If a haul like the recent recoveries can happen, it is not completely beyond the realm of possibility that something else could turn up Fingers crossed.

The story on its own looks good, and Pat is still my favourite Doctor so someone needs to find a copy so we can see! I can recall seeing clear segments of of Tomb and Evil, possibly a very vague memory of Snowmen and almost all of Web, Ice Warriors .... but like you no recollection of Fury yet it's a story that would have strongly registered in my tiny mind if the remaining clips are anything to go by - a mystery! I don't suppose any of the missing stories will ever quite live up to expectations (if not memories) as they are acquiring the status of Holy Grails (and I'm just as guilty as everyone else). Power will be no different in that regard but even the tantalising snippet of Troughton introducing Ben and Polly to the daleks (never mind the more famous dalek chorus and factory line scenes) is enough to give us a flavour of the classic Second doctor era and the suspense in Power. The novelisation is one of my favourites and that takes nothing away from Snowmen or Evil. I'd be delighted to be proved wrong by having Power on my DVD shelf to be endlessly critiqued....

I can remember as an impressionable kid being seriously into Snowmen when first broadcast thinking it was a great story and then being completely blown away by Web. The stories that made the greatest impression at the time for me were Web, Snowmen, Evil and The Invasion. As an OT aside, I had to wait until the VHS release of The Invasion to find out what happened after the cliff hanger where they are trapped between the deranged Cyberman and the other Cybermen in the sewer as I was at a friends 5th birthday party in Carlisle and we had to vote what to watch & Land of the Giants won. (As I remember it, I voted with the Land of the Giants group as I was too scared about what was going to happen & no doubt couldn't guarantee I would get space behind the sofa). Soft git! Took over 20 years to put right. Thank goodness the episodes in question survived.
