Just a thought but if foreign countries showed Doctor Who unofficially then there may be a small chance that they paid the actors royalties. Is there somewhere in the BBC where such payments were logged? (could lead to another "S.Leone")

Many thanks for the link, animation as good as Reign of Terror and deserves a wider audience.

What about "Doctor Who and his amazing time trousers" skit from ISIRTA (must be circa 1965).Does that still exist?

Surely any "lost" releases (or animations) would be announced well before November so that they can be released by end of year thus maximising sales from the 50th anniv push?

Is it because it is so badly damaged that it is taking ages to repair (found nearly 18 months ago so how long does it take?).Or is it because there is no suitable release available to slot in a single episode (perhaps they are animating the 2 missing ones then issuing all 4 parts on DVD?) Or is it because they are going to release it combined with a newly discovered story from the same era? (ie all those rumours re POTD being recovered. What do others think?

When the relative visits S.Leone she should be given the address of the tv station to see for herself. If it's still there then a telephone contact would be useful.

Wasnt it the Babelcolour top secret project of last summer that is being added as an extra (ie colourisation of an unbroadcast b & w segment about a minute long)?

Let's hope it's in the magazine and not just confined to the website.

The BBC Genome programme announced today gives us a long term hope.At least the BBC are still looking for old shows.Project Barcelona is a bit more worrying as it seems that they will try and charge for downloads but at least it will be quicker than waiting for the DVD to be issued after a find!

Again, an article in a national newspaper is the best way.I seem to remember that the Telegraph had a journalist who did Mastermind on the subject.Finding such a contact would be the first step to getting the article published.

People seem to have veered away from the original point of my posting. How do we get an article in a National newspaper about missing episodes? If Ian Levine is offering £2,000 per episode (news to me) then that is something that could form part of the article (assuming that he passes on the episode and doesn't keep it for himself, wasn't there a paragraph in wiped saying that he used to keep a few episodes for "negotiation " purposes?).There is also the question re lobbying for a treasure hunt style 50th anniv programme.Again HOW DO WE LOBBY FOR SUCH A THING?

In this World if you want something then you must be willing to pay for it.To sit back and wait for someone to come and give it to you for free is a recipe for sitting back and never getting anything. With this altruistic attitude it is hardly surprising that there has hardly been any returns in last 19 years.I would bet that there are episodes out there in private hands which have only been obtained because the buyer has been prepared to part with cash to obtain them.Obviously such people are not now going to return them without compensation.
