Moments of brilliance, moments that are a tad dodgy. On the whole a bloody good effort and with a few tweaks would have made a decent DVD extra. Certainly comparable to Reign if the faces were worked on a bit.
I enjoyed it to be honest but for real entertainment check out the comments! Ian is understandably unhappy.

Yes... Ian exploded in a rage last night on Twitter about this leak and as we now see, it's opened up a big can of worms on many levels. Even if he does get it removed, it's too late... half of DW fandom will have this within a few days so it's now permanently out there.
I watched a couple of minutes of each part... looked fine, reasonably faithful unlike the style used for Reign Of Terror. Dan Hall has done himself zero favours rejecting it since I think many fans will be happy to see episodes animated like this. Unfortunately therein lies the problem - Hall and Levine don't see eye to eye and after this leak, I can only guess the situation will only get worse.

Many thanks for the link, animation as good as Reign of Terror and deserves a wider audience.

Does very little for me, I'm afraid.
Its quite a fun fan effort, but I can certainly see why the decision was taken not to use it.

Just watched it and was very entertained. I am so pleased that there are people out there putting a LOT of time and effort into doing this sort of thing. I actually preferred this to watching static images of the recon variety.
Animation is a tricky thing to make value judgements on. One persons Paddington is another persons Snow White. This isn't up to the standards of the Invasion animation but it is a tremendous fan attempt.

Just update the graphics here and there! I really enjoyed the Marco Polo recon on The Beginning box set and am equally excited about the Galaxy Four recon on Aztecs SE. If there's an orphaned episode (such as G4's case) this sort of recon is a brilliant idea and I hope to see more of them!

Animation reminds me of shows like Archer as well as Williams Street animations such as Sealab 2021. (Which in itself was just reusing animation from Hanna-Barbera). The characters themselves are not fluid as seen in other types of animation.
It could be better, yes. However, it's certainly watchable. When I got to Marco Polo I listened to the audio rather than any of the fan made animations. But when I get to Mission to the Unknown, I could easily watch this and not be put off horribly by it.
Would I care to watch nine more episodes of this serial in said animation style? Eh, I could and would ... but Invasion and Reign are superior quality animations in my opinion. And this is an important story.
There are some highlights: I do like the opening sequence with the background and looking through the forest. That was a nice shot.

I wasn't sure whether i would like this or not but i must admit i quite enjoyed it , i agree the animation was a bit tacky looking in places but still watchable , i was fully excpecting it to be taken down at any time no suprise at all .

It's still up, just run a search. The animation looks as bad as the proper animations (am not a fan of them as you might guess . How did this get leaked? At a guess Levine's rant could be a smoke screen - the leak of Rose in 2005 did give some extra publicity to the show's return...

Does look rather awkward at some points but forgetting that it's quite a solid piece of animation. Would love to see more remade like this

It's never going to replace the lost visuals, but is it better than listening to the audio only or watching intermittently changing still pictures..? I'd say so.
