I think i remember the BBC saying they would only animate stories with 1 or 2 episodes missing, as with the previous animations, it is interesting why they would do a story with 6 episodes missing, even for a 50th when there are stories with less missing. If Power now complied with only 1, 2 or 3 episodes missing, it would meet that statement.

Mmm, I seem to remember similar comments about my thread a few years ago asking about the story of Yeti episodes being shown in a Cinema in Nigeria. Oh & don't forget that Web and Enemy were both found at a relay station where they had no real business to be. You just never know and there is always a slim chance that you could be bang on the money. Let's hope you are and we find out soon! Was the Yeti story reportedly shown in the cinema in Nigeria Snowmen or Web? Phil M mentioned it at Starburst, but he didn't say which story (unless I wasn't paying attention) If Web had been on the shelves at Jos Relay Station, since it was last broadcast, it would be likely that Snowmen would have been the one shown at the cinema

I presume no-one has thought of checking the programmes made during the 1971 colour strike for chroma dots. I read that the cameras while filming had the colour tubes disabled so there was no colour output, as the episodes of Bless This House and On The Buses are still shown in B&W years later would seem to show this was the case.

They were also by far the worst ITV company for early 1970s colour series only existing as black and white prints. I bet they filtered out the chroma dots as well.

I have now found the tapes of the following episodes, have yet to play/copy them
"All That Jazz" , "Dibbles Double", "Long Hot Winter" , "The Grand Tour", "Hawaii here we Come" , "Million Dollar Derby" and another unlabelled episode, which turned out to be another recording of "Long Hot Winter".

Hi all an update. I now have a good VHS Player that is fully working with my Blu-Ray recorders, The first few tapes pulled from my archive have played well. They included the 1987 Thames run of Randall & Hopkirk, and 1999- run of RTL Life. The recorders record SD from VHS/DVD in 720x576 and the result has to be re-encoded via videostudio x8 to be able to store on Blu-Ray. One of the next things i back up will be the episodes of Boss Cat, and will let you know the condition and episodes and maybe a still. Hopefully there will be more than one run of recordings. So far only one episode found, but in very good condition. There should be others. Its good that the opening and closing titles are the difference from the existing episodes. There is a very bad jump where Boss Cat was inserted ie [click] Boss Cat title card [click] then Episode Start. "TC Minds the Baby" Here are a few Low Quality samples, due to the 1mb file size limit, the videos are only the differences. Not bad for a 28 year recording.

I was just pointing out that production code 3W would be Invasion of the Dinosaurs, if 3W was a hint in that meaning. a single W would have been better. unless of course it meant that 3 of the W episodes had been found, like the hint of the underground map of 1968 was in the snowman.
There were so many nods to classic TV and films in both episodes than it could have been a nod to Pertwee and the rubber dinosaurs.

was waiting for this... but what the heck is 3w? 3W is actually a Pertwee story WWW just before the Tom Baker started with 4A ie AAAA so WWW would be 3W. Invasion of the Dinosaurs is WWW and part 1 is still missing in its original format, any many will still say the only Pertwee still missing in colour, hopefully better methods of colour recovery, or an original will turn up to fill this gap.

Noticed a Ghana/Sierra Leone reference in last night's new Who, when the round the world news reports of the trees were playing. Marco Polo, in addition to other Whos, were believed to have passed through Ghana en route to Sierra Leone. Its also says in the second report, after the paris one, "The Pitch wont be ready in Time", there are several meanings of the word Pitch, one of which as in sales pitch, not ready in time [IE why Marco didnt go with Enemy and Web]. It is interesting why the other reports only got one showing and the Ghana/Sierra Leone got two. There is also a Goal in the picture. We all have a Goal to find the missing episodes. It would also be interesting if the date of the clip matched the date Philip Morris was photographed outside the Sierra Leone TV Station he tweeted.

I like this season, although by inferno, you were a bit fed up with the doctor being in a nuclear/power establishment complex, which had been used as well in the previous two stories.

Why is the colourised Invasion of The Dinosaurs part one so weak as compared to Mind of Evil and Planet of The Daleks part three may I ask? There was no Blue Chroma dots on the film recording from memory, so the blue had to be added by hand/computer.

The Clean Opening Titles for the original Pertwee are an easter egg on one of the DVDs, the Titles tape still exists as well with the end titles. I have seen a clean early pertwee titles on the web where the circles are more vivid and the colours are more Blue/Green than the red.

Startrek TOS has been remastered into HD for Blu-Ray, and the effects have been enhanced/changed, not as good as the original, as you notice the difference when the picture changes back to the actors, and the control panels etc in the background. Sometimes its better to leave things as they were, and only improve the format and quality. The new ending on The Time Warrior is another case of updating effects, i prefer the original ending on Episode 4.

If a remember my photography from years ago, the film is wound onto a spiral to keep it away from its self put into the tank, then Developer liquid for a period of time then water for a few minutes, if to be positive, a reversal liquid is then put into the tank then a fixer, then water for a few minutes. If fixer is left on the film the image suffers after a period of time. I developed a lot of 35mm film.

With the Cyprus prints in the 70s, and Sierra Leone in the 90s, it seems we got the films in time, this time.
