They look very much Loose Cannon reconstruction screen grabs. Very convincing but composites nonetheless.

I seem to recall someone having seen "The Power Of The Daleks" four times due to moving to and around Australia.

Two questions: How many scripts do you have? How much beer does one have to buy you to get copies? Scripts of missing episodes (plus the ones for extant episodes from otherwise missing serials) are included as PDFs in the recent "Lost TV Episodes" audio boxsets.

I haven't seen it but I'm pretty sure you would see a lot of Rill action in episode 4? There are four Rill in ep 4. And four 'actors' credited in the scripts as 'playing'them. Although they might have been all shrouded in ammonia mist and not be visible much. From what I can remember (from the audio) there is a scene in which the Doctor & Co see the Rills in all their glory.

As that footage will have been a filmed insert, it most likely isn't detailed on the camera script.

Okay having compared the audio recordings you're quite right, they are different performances. I could have sworn that when I saw the episode at MBW that it looked like a double FR though. Oh well, sorry to have led you on this wild goose chase!

The Rill wasn't seen in episode 2, no. The last shot (as per the camera script) is a close up of Vicki's eyes. However, take a look at the script for episode 3: I've cropped out the gaps, but the important part is "end of repeat insert".

The camera scripts aren't always correct. I seem to recall that there is nothing in the script for The Macra Terror Episode 1 concerning the opening with the titles superimposed over Medok's wide-eyed stare.

The animation is CGI as used in some of the more recent Loose Cannon reconstructions, but the majority of the recon is as standard (i.e. stills/reshot Chumbley footage). An example can be seen in the "End Of The Line" documentary on The Gunfighters DVD.

I believe "Air Lock" features the cliffhanger footage from the previous episode

You copied the CDs to MP3s? We're you aware that both Mission and all 12 episodes of Master Plan are on the disc as MP3s anyway? The MP3s are versions without narration

The clip shows a close up of Lesterson's eyes, with a spinning TARDIS reflected in them. As the Doctor never explains to any of the colonists about the TARDIS, the footage is at least partly created for the purpose of the showreel.

You can try, but I dont think you'll get very far - most sellers DO list what they are selling - anyone who is so clueless as to list a random reel of film with no other information, isn't likely to be willing to spend time trying to figure out what it is for you. If they wanted to do that, they would have done it before listing it -- especially since they could potentially get a lot more for it if it was something people wanted and they knew what it was... Well, the guy selling the print I linked said he has no idea what the film is. In hindsight, it does sound fishy. I apologise for wasting people's time. It can't do any harm to ask for a photograph of the leader or a couple of frames.

That's a really excellent guide Brad! Only two minor points: You've written "A black and white 2” PAL Quad tape of The Time Warrior 6" instead of "The Time Monster", & I believe that they have the negatives for "Spearhead From Space" as well as the positive prints.

Wasn't Giants 3 vidifired for the recent special edition. Perhaps the system has been improved enough for more marginal prints now. Still pity that the Time Meddler episodes that were good enough then were not done IIRC only 2 were too bad. Steve Roberts explained the reasoning over on Gallifrey Base: "You have to remember that this was all very new and groundbreaking technology, PoG was the first commercial use of it. We were still working out HOW to use it, never mind WHERE to use it. We just made the deadline on the VHS release after managing to get the first two episodes processed (each episode took a week just for the initial interpolation process back then). At the time we weren't too bothered about it, because episode three had been transmitted from film anyway so we could justifiably deflect criticism (of which there was much) that way. However, the more we worked with VidFIRE, the more we came around to changing our opinions of where it should be used and now we feel that that we should be trying to emulate the look of the capture format, not the transmission format (the latter generally governed by lack of availability of videotape recorders rather than for any artistic intent, as far as we have been able to uncover). We feel this better represents the original intent rather than slavishly replicating an accident of fate."
