Reference The Kinks "Autumn Almanac" & "Wonderboy" Top of the Pops clips they were found in a warehouse in Holland. Quote: "In 1994 I visited a warehouse with 45.000 cans of film (including TOTP Kinks 16mm dupes of Autumn Almanac and Wonder Boy) – the BBC had no interest in when I offered it to them back in 1997". Many thanks to Richard Groothuizen Business Development & Sales Avro Netherlands. Is this info correct ? The Kinks - Autumn Almanac first appeared on the VHS compilation tape - 'Rock'n'Roll the Greatest Years 1967 Volume 2 in 1990. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNgo07Cg7lI

How about a more 'radical' suggestion..... How about after transferring... REPEATING THEM ON TV. So everyone is able to view them.

Interesting choices. I notice that 'Death of a Clown' is included. Could it possibly be from that recovered '67 totp?. Probably not! here's the link www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b012ht1w

Glitz Blitz & Hits - Sweet. (dvd)..... Has various clips including Wig Wam Bam from totp , None of the clips are 'full' however and the source for some of them is from a old VHS recording by the look of them, especially Wig Wam Bam (complete with some tracking issues).

Just a very brief clip unfortunately Lance. Hopefully now that these clips are at the BBC they will get shown sometime in the future and not locked away forever.

The pre-schedules for the next 4 weeks don't have 27th May 76 in them.
7:30pm Thursday June 2nd - June 3rd 1976 (Tony Blackburn) 7:30pm Thursday June 9th - "The Sky At Night" 7:30pm Thursday June 16th -"BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2011", but there is a totp at 01:15am later that following morning.
This sort of confusion occured when einsfestival were showing totp. They had 03/06/1976 scheduled but didn't show it in the end, thus this gave more creedence to the possibilty that it no longer existed. We shall see next thursday for sure.

He " retried" in February 76 in a blaze of publicity so no he wont be & You belong to me only got to 47, so he wouldnt have got on , but more intrestingley 03/06/76 has gone missing, which coincidentley features the G(litter( band , i know a member of the band, and he knew nothing of the bbc4 repeats , so i take it they werent on 03/06/1976 is scheduled to be shown on BBC4 Thursday, June 2nd, 2011 @ 7:30pm
