I read somewhere on this forum that Mike Reid had several videotapes stolen from his car sometime in the mid eighties.
Could this be where some of those famous 'missing but not' clips went, such as Jean Genie shown on Pop Quiz, and if anyone knows or could find out what exactly was on those tapes. This has personally really bugged me since I found it out and some really priceless stuff could have gone missing (sixties tapes as well as seventies :@)

Mike Read broadcasts on onegold each weekday morning from 8.00 AM until 12.00 noon although he wasn't on air today. Just email the studio - whilst he's on air - and I'm sure he'd be pleased to answer any questions about this on air in reply to your email. The situation was answered by the BBC, they do have the complete performance on the 1965 VT compilation reel. Why it has never been re-shown in full is strange but at least it still exists.

Does ANYONE know which edition of Pop Quiz - or even which season - that Jean Genie is meant to have appeared on. If you remember the Stealer's Wheel "discovery", we may well have a tiny possibility of a discovery here.
