Could you elaborate on this as it's something i've not heard of before Not much to elaborate on. It features Dave solo with his Flying V and his undertaker style coat with various superimposed shadow effect the BBC vision mixers could do, because they could, probably from the 7th of December programme. Before you ask it not the Beat Club performance as he used his 12 string Fender for that and was dressed in leather for that one.
That's great if that survives, even if it's a ropey copy. Has it ever turned up on a bootleg or other media to view?

There is an extant, but very ropey Susannah's Still Alive from the TotPs 1967 as well.

What i found confusing back then was that they mixed the titles for both US & UK using the graveyard & Chambers and Partners.

In defence of the BBC at the time of compiling this show there were issues with some clips they should have included.
Autumn Almanac & Wonderboy would have had to be licenced from ZDF & NDR Days hadn't been recovered at that point The 'Once More with Felix' masters according to the BBC, had been 'loaned out' and couldn't be returned in time for broadcast.
I agree that the 'Kinks at the BBC' should have had an update or a 'Kinks at the BBC' 2.
Some more i would have also included are these videos and performances:
Dedicated Follower of Fashion (Video) (A Whole Scene Going) (1966) Dead End Street (Video) (1966) although not shown on TOTP i would include due to the controversy at the time. Death Of A Clown (TOTP)(1967) Lola (It's Lulu) (1973) Do It Again (Video) (OGWT)

If that's the case then the promo doesn't exist. Some of the same footage was seen on Nationwide but is not exactly the same as the TOTP promo. So would be worth getting a transfer i would think Paul. We do have a mute transfer Paul. But I'll organise a sync sound scan. I may as well do the other (Alice Cooper) promo at the same time. Paul Is the Alice Cooper promo 'Hello Hurray?

Thanks Paul. Just to be clear, what promo is it?, the common record company one (Bowie with the blue eye shadow) or the one made by the BBC which was also featured on Nationwide.? OK. It's not the blue eye shadow promo. It's actually a compilation of clips from what looks like the Ziggy Stardust film. I'll have a proper look later. Paul, this wasn't part of the compilation from the BBC at the latest Kaleidoscope event. Is this and maybe some more that were not shown (apart from the Glitter ones) from the collection? It hasn't been transferred because it's a surviving promo. Thanks Paul. Just to be clear, what promo is it?, the common record company one (Bowie with the blue eye shadow) or the one made by the BBC which was also featured on Nationwide.?

Does anyone know the original ITV transmission date for It'll Be Alright on the Night 5 ? Seems there are 2 versions one which has the titles of 'No5' and the other having 'It'll Be Alright on Christmas Night' which was from 25-12-87.

Dear Paul The BBC has seen your opening post on the thread and the following may answer your question ... That description of the show is a bit inaccurate, because there was no interview with Morecambe and Wise included – it was just Michael Parkinson introducing a commenting on excerpts from the Morecambe and Wise show – all the usual favourite sketches.
The description sounds more like “The Music of Morecambe and Wise” broadcast on 6 June 1977 which was based round a new interview with Morecambe and Wise, interspersed with clips of the musical items from some of the shows (i.e song and dance items with guest stars, not the musical interludes with Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen, etc). That's great. Thanks for clearing that up.
