I remember a clip from one of these being shown on Fantasy Football League, possibly 10/12/77 as it's on a newer format.

Lots of choices, 10th Planet part 4 would be top of my Dr Who list.
It would be great if The Prophet or Get Off My Cloud from OOTU turned up.
An Ian Hendry era Avengers would be nice, as would be a full episode of Twice a Fortnight or United!
I'm sure there are a few more I can think of.

Xmas specials seemed to really take of in the 1980s.
I was too young to see the earlier Only Fools & Horses ones, but the later ones bring back a lot of memories, as do the One Foot In The Grave specials.

Chris Tarrant's wife often recorded TISWAS for him, was this recorded in a similar way?

I remember Crawford Productions making The Flying Doctors.
I do know a bit about the BBC's use of Shibadens for off line editing, was the format used much for viewing copies before cassette based tape formats came along?

I knew a lot of BSB programming has been wiped, it's intesting that Sky didn't think to keep this.
Maybe some constestants on this show recorded their performances & hopefully kept them.

Very interesting I'd never heard of Scopitone before.

Made a submission to Lost Shows.com for the following episode of The Adventures Of Rupert Bear. ITC. Kaleidoscope contacted the bfi who have confirmed they do hold this episode on both Digital Betacam and Digital Tape. 21/1/76 The Crock Of Gold. Lost Shows.com say there are still many more episodes of Rupert missing...so keep looking everyone. IIRC a lot also exist as returned export copies, I've heard of episodes with burnt in subtitles, not sure if these were in other languages or special copies for the deaf & hard of hearing.

I've not heard of Vendetta before, but it sounds interesting.
I remember Virtual Murder being quirky, almost like a prototype Jonathan Creek at times. It was one of the last non-soap dramas there BBC made on videotape without a film effect.

It's interesting when a series has 2 different dubs in the same language, like Barnaby The Bear being named Jeremy in Canada (at least it wasn't Jack or James!)

Slightly OT but worth mentioning:
What's the status of David Frost's American & Australian shows in terms of survival & availability?

IIRC one feature in DWM reckoned Shada would have been finished if there hadn't been such a change about of personnel between seasons 17 & 18.
One problem was getting all the supporting actors back as the would have had other commitments.

Film 4 does have the occasional oldie / art house, & world cinema film worth watching.
I remember they had a few Studio Ghibli films with the original Japanese soundtrack a while back.

IIRC OFAH was mostly cut due to rights issues on songs, & David Jason wanting a line or 2 editing for personal reasons.
