Sorry, with my autism, I have a harder time understanding sarcasm, no offense taken. Michael God works in mysterious ways... I think it is awesome that two of the greatest episodes were found in a church and if some more folk really joined to get who episodes it could all just be part of a... [cue: Oasis - The Masterplan, words & music by Noel Gallagher] youtu.be/dPPi2D6GK7AI'm certainly grateful to the members of said Church for making the effort of returning the episodes rather than just chucking them like I imagine many would.

Don't encourage them, it's a waste of time and money which could be invested in other stories. It adds up if they go over every last orphaned episode and could hold back animating some stories by two years potentially. I'd also point out that as BBC America were funding the animation for broadcast and they certainly aren't putting them all out in the one go, so being consistent between episodes shouldn't be a priority just in case it upsets a few DVD viewers. I'd much rather watch the original footage where I can, I only resort to animation when we have no other choice, I didn't mind going from animation to real footage at all in releases like The Invasion.

Fellow members, can I just say that I have fallen completely in love with this animation. Originally I was dubious about an all animated production but once you get into the concept it's fantastic. Will definitely buy the colour edition to enhance my enjoyment even more. It's a new phase DVD release-let's hope we get some more, animated and 16mm! I agree! The animation certainly had some issues but from interviews I think we can gather that's mostly due to time constraints which is something I'm sure will be improved upon with the next animation if there is one.

It's important to remember that Auntie is the copyright holder - the prints themselves have no intrinsic value. Well if you were a collector and you had possibly the only one of the world of something like a classic TV show it would have a lot of value at least to you and fellow collectors or fans of the show.

Fair enough. But can you see a reason why he would hold anything back ... a reason that wouldn't apply to WOF3? Although I seriously and sincerely doubt he's holding something just to hold it back, here are few off the top of my head: 1. The copies of everything but WOF3 need to be cleaned badly. 2. Everything other than WOF3 have parts of the episodes that are in such bad shape that the BBC are debating whether or not to animate the missing sections or use some variation of the telesnap reconstructions. 3. Maybe there are more than one copy of everything else and they are trying to put together a new master print to be the best possible. Web 3 might be badly damaged too, weren't the other ones not exactly in the best condition from that set of prints.

It's very easy to read what you want into something and I'm going to stay cautious - if you have low expectations you're unlikely to be disappointed ! Had WoF 3 been recovered I can't see any reason for holding it back. There is a possibility of more Season 5 in Nigeria but that's it, a possibility. If, hypothetically, WoF 3 had been recovered in late summer 2016 there may have been time to prepare a Special Edition for the Christmas market but that didn't happen. I'm staying cautious and keeping everything crossed. Sound advice, it's what I live by with missing episodes and what I strongly encourage others to practice.

Very little "proof". There is one or two weird things that happened, but nothing to suggest the rumor is real. It's more likely just a bunch of chatter on the message boards making a misunderstanding seem more than it really is. Welcome back! The proof is that the person who said the rumour was correct about web/enemy as well as knowing about animated power As everybody has said that's not proof. It just gives the statements a bit more credibility than most things you hear. Still doesn't mean it's true or you should believe it, let's just sit back, don't think about it and wait.

Haha! I don't know if you're being serious here but just to clarify to anyone who's confused by that I think this was to ensure everyone they meant two individual episodes rather than two whole serials. Just curious - when did people start getting confused by this? IMHO, it is pretty clear what "episodes" means - you would never refer to the serial "The Tenth Planet" as one episode. Or is this just a function of having got into Doctor Who before Tom Baker where "episode" was part of the normal lexicon and we all had experience with the movie serials? It says 2 Hartnells only on this post.

"Possibility of 2 Hartnells found (2 x 25 minute episodes)"? If they'd just give more specific running-times, we'd have a better idea! Haha! I don't know if you're being serious here but just to clarify to anyone who's confused by that I think this was to ensure everyone they meant two individual episodes rather than two whole serials.

Being able to see most of the first two seasons is an absolute blessing as it'd be really sad if we didn't have most of the start of the show. I wholeheartedly agree. I have always had a fondness for the original four cast members who were all excellent in their roles and really gelled as a team. How fortunate that all but eleven of Ian and Barbara's episodes are still with us to enjoy today. I prefer them with Vicki myself as Vicki was a much better character, my favourite companion in fact. Whereas I find Susan to be mostly annoying, she is quite good in The Sensorites and Domain OF The Voord (an audio) though.

Glad to find another Galaxy 4 fan, such a criminally underrated serial! We definitely got the best part back as that speech is amazing. I'm not sure if I'm remembering this right but didn't the BBC have a copy of Galaxy 4 until the early 80s when it was wiped by someone? There was a story that the Doctor Who Appreciation Society sought permission to screen this serial at a convention in 1978, only to find that the BBC had junked the episodes about three weeks earlier. That's been debunked though. Thanks for clearing that up!

I also like Galaxy 4 (probably more than I should) and I am glad to meet another two fans who appreciate such an underrated story, I would in fact go as far to say that in my opinion, it is the most underrated story in the show's 53 year history. So yeah. I like Galaxy 4, but I don't think it makes it into my top 50 stories. It's in my top 50 but not top 30. Yeah it is one of the most underrated stories, I vote on a poll that was Galaxy 4 vs Myth Makers, I was the only G4 voter and I got berated for it!

I'm thankful for the following: Edge of Destruction: A great monologue and fascinating two parter that gives the first example of the TARDIS being personified. Airlock: One if my favorite serials from the Hartnell era and a chilling speech from Maaga. Evil 2: A gorgeous intro to Victoria that felt almost fairytale like in the direction. Tomb: For how damn lucky we are it exists. Enemy: My favorite Troughton. Dinosaurs 1: For completing an era. Glad to find another Galaxy 4 fan, such a criminally underrated serial! Can i just ask, how do rumours on a fourm ruin negotiations? Hypothetically, if a dealer or private collector had something tucked away that they were considering selling, a loud gaggle of doctor who fans proclaiming a battered 16mm print to be the most important recovery since the Nag Hammadi library and how it is priceless etc, could drive up the price or even make negotiations completely stall. Additionally if someone did have a lead on something missing that they had not physically secured, the possibility of less experienced hands blundering in and perhaps messing up negotiations or making the owner of a print think it is worth far more money than it actually is, isn't that palatable a prospect either. These days if they have access to the internet they would probably already know that if they were considering selling, if they didn't how could they know about this as they wouldn't know about the internet.

Can i just ask, how do rumours on a fourm ruin negotiations? Apparently collectors are like wild animals, make any sudden sounds or movements and they run away. Maybe we should get David Attenborough to narrate negotiations over missing episodes.
