I'm sorry to say you're unlikely to get another chance! Believe me, I know. Not a day goes by when I don't kick myself about it! I feel sorry for you man, every time I watch The Daleks if that happened to me would involve intense self loathing while watching I've made mistakes like that before though but never on that scale!

Book shop? I thought it was somewhere else. It was an antique shop. It doesn't look like the one I saw, but if I knew I could get that much money for it I'd NEVER have left it behind. I was new to Who at the time and was very stupid cause I didn't understand or realize the value of what already existed. These days I'm much wiser, so I won't be making that mistake again! I'm sorry to say you're unlikely to get another chance!

Any idea as to whether is was an original copy made by the BBC or just a reproduction by a collector?

Doctor Who Online is not affiliated with the BBC and is well known for spinning false yarns on Twitter to get more traffic to their website. It's a disgusting practice. Proof of this? Well look the amount of times they've teased announcements that never came or just literally started rumours by saying they were hearing rumours. They've indirectly suggested Marco Polo, The Crusade and The Wheel In Space have been found without directly saying that to lure traffic to their site. It's evidently what they're doing, I wouldn't trust a word they say. Of course if we do see all three of those stories released in some way I'll take it back but these comments go back a long time by this point.

I see Amazon are advertising a special edition DVD in March? Please let this be true Superb cover, but let's hope it has some excellent extras such as commentaries and production notes. Those really would really be the cherry on the cake. I think that's guaranteed otherwise what would be the point! Hopefully a documentary too, one about making Enemy and one about Phil Morris!

Here's the link for people asking: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B079MQBNB7/ref=sr_1_5?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1517943922&sr=1-5&keywords=doctor+who+enemy+of+the+worldLooks very interesting, it'll be nice to finally have special features on Enemy, it's a shame they couldn't have done it when poor Debbie Watling was still alive. This is pure conjecture but what if along with this we get a Web special edition with perhaps a recovered or animated episode 3? I wouldn't get too excited considering I have no evidence for that but still it's a possibility. On the other hand they may just be releasing this to keep up their one Doctor Who release a year thing they've had since 2014.

With episode remakes, I'm personally happy to wait until CGI technology is so advanced it can more or less recreate the episodes with some degree of accuracy. I know that sounds a little outlandish but just compare CGI 10 years ago to now, in a decade or two I really think we'll be at that level where it can be done easily and cheaply using mostly computer guidance and computer generation.

This "spare print" is likely WOF episode 1 as that is already in the archives. I could be wrong but that would make sense.

Yeah I can agree somewhat but if they were all done as well as The Moonbase animation I'd never watch a recon again. I think the most direly in need of animation is The Massacre as it can be quite hard to follow if you're not paying it full attention, shame as its a brilliant story that goes quite underrated. The only problem with that is that historicals generally don't lend themselves very well to animation (The Reign of Terror) because they tend to rely more heavily on dialogue and subtle interactions which animations aren't very good at. It would be like trying to watch The Edge of Destruction as an animation. I think that's one of the reasons why the tensions between the colony members didn't translate very well in the POTD animation. Animations can make action excellently, but lose most of the subtleties in human expression. True but you'll get more than on a recon at least.

I saw a comment on a FB group that mentioned Steve Roberts said it was a telesnap recon. Who is he?

You're welcome and I agree other than the fact I prefer a good animation to a recon myself but I can see where you are coming from. For me it really depends on the animation/reconstruction as to which I like more. For example, I prefer the Mission to the Unknown animation to the recon, but the POTD recon to the animation. Some stories just work better as recons and others work better as animations and animations vary in quality, etc. I guess a Wheel animation would be cool. It's not super high on my list of stories I want animated, but I think it'd work pretty well as opposed to say The Abominable Snowmen, which I think would fail hard as an animation. Now if they were animating The Celestial Toymaker then I'd be excited. That one would just look beautiful as an animation. Yeah I can agree somewhat but if they were all done as well as The Moonbase animation I'd never watch a recon again. I think the most direly in need of animation is The Massacre as it can be quite hard to follow if you're not paying it full attention, shame as its a brilliant story that goes quite underrated.

PM was tracking Snowman and Wheel in one of his last interviews, but likely a wild goose chase. After reading the article, I don't think there is any connection between this and a potential Wheel recovery--but likely to kindle some rumors... Its been so silent, rumor/lead wise, id be surprised if it didn't. I also prefer the telesnap recons to animation as they feel closer to the original. However, since I have the loose cannon recon of Wheel, animation would be welcome as something different (I like both Telesnap recon of Power and animation--they have a distinctively different Ora to them). Thankx for the info Dylan! You're welcome and I agree other than the fact I prefer a good animation to a recon myself but I can see where you are coming from.
