I believethe only DW material in that show that doesn't exist anywhere else was an outtake from the Seeds of Doom, where Scorby pushes up against a "locked" door that then opens. I think that is on the DVD.

I have not made a comment for a while but I feel its time regarding this issue. Please can we move on from the issues surrounding presenters whether guilty or not .We are having our musical history decimated in case someone takes offence at a presenter...yes..Jimmy Savile was the main presenter on the 25 th show and it was a great event with loads of bands as they were in the late 80's...There were other legendary presenters there.....Why cant we see it or at least release it on dvd Sorry if my comment offends but i am sick of my music being chosen for me Can we please not go here again?

It's worth saying, please don't respond to this if you've already given Ray your lists elsewhere. Equally, if you've replied here, please don't post your lists anywhere else. Ray is trying to get a fair representation of people's opinions, and duplicated posts will distort the results.

Freewheelers was a Southern production, and is unaffected by the issues surrounding TVS.

Those two episodes of Master Plan were only found by chance, the members of the LDS church sometimes buys or rents buildings to hold meetings and that is what most likely happened. and being a member of the LDS church I don't really appreciate people using my religion as a joke. Michael Nobody said anything derogatory or offensive about your religion, Michael...

Fair enough Paul. His proof is very weak. Just thought the response was a little harsh. After seeing the mbe of Tooting posts, I didn't see what Henry was saying was in the same league. Guess he is digging. But like you say...believe it when you see it. Erm, no - his "proof" was not proof, and that was the problem.

Very little "proof". There is one or two weird things that happened, but nothing to suggest the rumor is real. It's more likely just a bunch of chatter on the message boards making a misunderstanding seem more than it really is. Welcome back! The proof is that the person who said the rumour was correct about web/enemy as well as knowing about animated power Henry, please go and find a dictionary, look up "proof" and then come back and explain how someone happening to be correct in the past "proves" that they are guaranteed to be correct on a subsequent occasion.

I'm grateful that we have the off-air audio recordings of the missing episodes. Without those, there would be so many more questions, we'd have no animations, no recons, and of course The Tenth Planet and the 8mm clips would be much harder going...

Well as this appears to have descended into a free-for-all attack on TOTP presenters, let's turn it off for a bit.

Oh, and another thing, that reply from the BBC is craven nonsense. All you have to do is have a word with the estate - otherwise nothing with dead people in it would ever get shown on TV. "Respect his wishes". Royalty was he? Actually, Rob, you don't know that they haven't already done so. Sarah Greene was almost certainly aware that Mike Smith had declined to sign the release forms in the past, so it's quite likely that she would decide to do the same and "respect his wishes". A shame, but there you go.

So John Levene was bonkers even back then..!
Thanks for sharing these, Alan - I particularly liked the Laurence Payne one. Very sad that he seemed to feel as though acting was beyond him by then..

As we have all the existing footage on other DVDs, I'm far more excited by the prospect of a 5.1 mix, personally.

There were domestic video tape recorders in the UK from 1963, so it's theoretically possible for any episode to have been recorded. However, factor in the tremendously small likelihood of a) such a recording ever having been made, b) the tape still existing without having been recorded over and c) the recording actually being recoverable from the tape, and it should go some way to explaining why no such recordings have turned up...
