I'm curious to see how in depth it will be. The title suggests that a second one will be made for the Troughton era. I can certainly imagine full page photos and articles about each serial missing. Marco Polo, Reign of Terror, Crusades ... telesnaps where possible.
I'm sure whatever will be in there will be completely awesome!

Where will this be available? Will it be like the official magazine, where it's sold in shops, or is this one you'll have to buy online or call for? Sorry for asking, it's just that I'm new to the magazines, and I've never seen any specials for sale before.

You should be able to pick it up in your local shops (WHSmiths generally has it). It's just one of a series of Specials from the official Doctor Who Magazine so it won't have any news or announcement it will just be dedicated wholly to one given topic; in this case The Missing Episodes - The First Doctor!

I havent bought a DWM in years, maybe decades.

I think it was mentioned on threads here last year that there were a few telesnaps from the DWM which hadn't been reprinted in 20 years?

This is amazing. Just amazing! i'm speechless. Have you seen a telesnap before? I remember from the Classic Comics days the snaps being quite small - would you lose a lot of definition if they were increased in size?

Go to the BBCs photo novel website, they have an option to view them at 800x600. Some are passable. Most aren't.

Actually, most of the telesnaps are sharp and in good condition and would stand up to some enlargement. Many of the ones on the BBC website have gone through some rather unsympathetic processing, which means they don't look too clever - some of the photos from The Enemy of the World are particularly bad.

I'm still hoping for further telesnap discoveries. It would be great to uncover ones for The Massacre, The Celestial Toymaker and, of course, The Dalek's Masterplan.

DWM have been terrific over the years in their coverage of the missing episodes. Congratulations once again to Tom Spilsbury and the team for doing a special.
I never get bored of reading material about this, and I'm sure it will be presented as brilliantly as the other specials. It will help widen the message too.
