A very nice issue indeed, lovely to see all the Tele-Snaps together. Though only 62 are published for each story which means some are missed out, which is a bit of shame. Nice to some snaps from The Daleks, The Dalek Invasion of Earth and The Web Planet. Were those from the images I sent to you Richard or from Derek Handley directly? I've got no information about the Dalek Invasion of Earth snaps; how many were taken of each episode, does anyone know? I thought they were missing! What existing stories have Tele-Snaps? I only have The Daleks, The Rescue, The Romans, The Time Meddler (with no knowledge of how many for each ep), The Gunfighters, The War Machines, The Tomb of the Cybermen, The Dominators and The Mind Robber.

I was going to comment that your chart has question marks for both Crusades and Time Meddler. I assume that means they do exist, but you've no idea the number existing?

Yup. In fact, just updated the chart 10 seconds ago. Hit refresh. Crap, missed a couple. Work in progress.

Hey, yep it's my site. I've taken it down for the time being as I didn't feel it was right to be showing the Tele-Snaps on my site whilst DWM have their latest issue out. As there is nothing else on there currently I decided to just block it to the public, it's still there and it will come back! Unfortunately other work has consumed much of my time lately but when I bring it back I want it to have a couple of pages that I've been working on. Really sorry for any inconvenience but if you need anything just PM me. Please do bring the site back online when you have a mo, I must admit I didn't know about the site but it sounds like a site I need to get to know. Down the line it might be worth showcasing which slides were absent from DWM. Keep up the good work and good luck with the exams

Well... late as I am to this particular party, I hope to get this and subsequent issues on the subject. This one looks like a proper humdinger of a special. Noice!

Is there a way to purchase this special individually across the ocean?

I'll say it one more time. Please post under a full real name, as per forum rules! There's been a spate of people posting on the forums lately under questionable names which they claim are "real". It's tiresome to keep repeating oneself but anyone visiting Missing Episodes for the first time should READ THE FORUM RULES before posting any comments; these are pinned in a prominent place at the top of each section. A hardline is going to be taken from now on. Any newcomers posting under what seem like handles in future (whether they are or not) will have their posts deleted without warning or explanation. Genuine newcomers are encouraged to register as members rather than post as guests.

What an absolutely gorgeous release! Best thing from DWM in years. Lovely to see those Hartnell telesnaps in such glorious quality after all these years. I didn't even know that snaps existed from Tenth Planet 4, so it was even nicer to realise that the forthcoming animation seems to be using that existing visual material so closely as its inspiration.
So, how many volumes would you need to release the remaining Troughton telesnaps? Could you manage it as two editions, a "Troughton Season 4" (28 missing episodes with existing telesnaps) and a "Troughton Season 5" (26 missing episodes with existing telesnaps), or would it need to be three releases?
Happy either way. A great release and one that I will treasure for a long time to come. Thanks.

As an aside note I recall that the original Quatermass scripts were released in book form many years ago and they all included off-air photos (from memory they including episodes no longer existing from "The Quatermass Experiment" i.e. the creature inside Westminster Abbey), there was also a Hancock script book with off-air shots and the 1960s Dalek Book included off-air shots from the very first Dalek adventure (albeit with some crudely pasted amendments). Were these examples of John Cura's work being commercially exploited, or were those shots from other sources? Thanks, Dave

Ahh the photos in the photos in The Dalek Book weren't sourced from Cura, no. The latest issue of Nothing At The End Of The Lane has a small feature on it if you want to find out more: www.endofthelane.co.ukIt's only £5.99 (excluding postage) and is seriously worth it if you haven't already got a copy!

The Quatermass Experiment pictures are publicity photos, not off-screen images, while the ones in the Quatermass II book are AIUI screen-grabs taken specially for the book.

It is absolutely incredible. All those telesnaps and information in one place! What more could you want? The Cura article by Richard Bignell was fascinating and really gave an insight into the history of the tele-snaps and why they were taken in the first place. I enjoyed all of them but I found Marco Polo and TP4 to be astonishing. Each telesnap has a description and/or insight. This release is spectacular! They even showed a selection of telesnaps from 'The Centre' - an episode I'm particularly fond of I thoroughly recommend.

A superb release, and fingers crossed that a 2nd Doctor edition sees the light of day soon. One thing has always puzzled me however since the telesnaps' original publication many years ago. As we know, the replacement of captions on the restored DVDs is standard wherever possible. This, amongst other things, is to counter the distortion in the lettering brought about by the telerecording process. Yet, on the Marco Polo Ep 1 set we clearly see the caption 'The Roof Of The World' was distorted on the actual transmission. What's the answer?
