Still nothing there today - thankfully I ordered mine through newsstand.co.uk & received it earlier this week. Suggest you try them - cost me less than what you'd expect to pay at Minotaur too (<$14).

I've just got my copy from a small local newsagent and I just wanted to say it looks absolutely wonderful. Some great pictures which I've never seen before especially one of Julian Glover from the Crusade, and some great text to accompany the stories.I know I'll be reading this for months to come.Well worth finding and cherishing!

That's quite some mark up! Around £12 versus a cover price of £6. Is this always the case with UK publications down under?

Thanks for the heads-up. Was planning to order it online but stocks seem to be depleting fast. May have to hand over my hard-earned cash to Minotaur, but I'm not pleased with that mark-up!

Woah - I'm just asking the question! I have no idea how the numbers work. Presumably most of that mark up is shipping. I don't want to do Minotaur an unnecessary disservice

Minotaur have always been over-priced, but started by importing sci fi and fantasy based stuff which one would never have been able to find in Australia otherwise many years ago.
As a side note for those in Melbourne who might buy the special from Minotaur, I exchanged my copy today as the original one I bought had a couple of torn pages. In doing so, I found most on the shelves had torn pages - usually with a 4cm tear on a couple of pages.

Probably a total coincidence, but here in the UK I had to take my first copy back to WH Smith for precisely the same problem. Weird!

A lovely issue. However,it does put the missing stories in perspective in terms of their importance as both missing episodes and in the Dr Who canon. The missing stories and episodes are analyzed and their strengths and weakness' pointed out.Although it is sad they are gone, the presence of the tele-snaps and soundtracks are a worthy substitute. We can get over their absence.

Especially when it comes to e.g. web of fear. I noticed a few telesnaps got left out by the way, mostly just credits such as "by Brian Hayles" but a few others as well.

Although a tele-snap recon will never be a complete substitute for an actual missing episode, they do have a certain charm ( if done well ) and certainly whets the appetite for the entire B & W era of Dr Who.

This finally came out in the US. What a great read. Really would love a Troughton edition or two.

DWM did a wonderful COMPLETE SECOND DOCTOR magazine about 10 years ago which is well worth finding-that and the complete 1st,3rd and 4th ( volume 1 ) Doctors.Unfortunately, second hand copies don't come cheap-the complete 2nd Doctor volume is being sold for £50 on ebay!
