I love original B&W BUT I must say the clips that have been colourised are excellent and really bring the episodes to life. If it's done well I would love it and for those who hate it don't watch it! I agree that there are some spectacular colour versions on YouTube. I could definitely see this being done well. Some of the AI stuff is very impressive too. I prefer Black and White but I’m willing to give colour versions a go at least once. I mean why not? It’s not hurting anyone and the B&W versions will still be available. Having said all of this I’m still not convinced the BBC will actually do any whole episodes anyway

I don't think it's disrespectful at all. in the mid-60's TV was black and white, that was that. They didnt chose the option. I am sure if they could, they would have chosen colour. I'm old enough to have grown up watching a lot of black and white TV / films, and have nothing against them at all. As many have said, B&W can add to certain programmes, absolutely. But i'd love to see some well colouriesed 60's Who. why not? Where's the harm if people want to give it a go. I watched the animations in both colour and B&W. Was happy with both - just different options of the same thing.

When I was a kid I refused to watch B&W stuff as it made me fall asleep and just seemed like it was going to be slow and boring but now as a 23 year old for many years now I love B&W. In many regards prefer it. Some of the reasons why 60’s Who is my fav decade. I only watch the animations in B&W personally but I’m more than happy for them to colourise the episodes. I’ll watch them but I’m not desperate for them. Which stories do you think would be the most interesting to watch in B&W? For me Mind Robber is the first that comes to mind

Aztecs would look good in colour, Web Planet with all the coloured insects (even if its not a favourite story of mine), Celestial Toymaker, War Games - and of course Marco Polo if it was ever found!

Celestial Toymaker was the second one that came to mind. I could see Aztecs being a good one. Realistically it will be An Unearthly Child for obvious reasons but I would suggest not the most interesting one to have in colour really. I would prefer they focus all the colourisation efforts on making sure Pertwee’s stuff is the best in colour that it can be

Has anybody produced a complete list? I do agree about the Pertwee stories.

Most viewers do not tolerate B/W anymore. Gareth Randall and many others who work or have worked for the BBC and ITV keep telling geeks this, but so many refuse to listen.

So it's the daleks they've colourised....on the one hand, makes sense given there popularity...but is an odd one given you've got the full technicolour movie with Peter cushion. Would of been nice to see something else get a lease of life.

It would have been interesting to see something like 'The Mind Robber' colourised, especially as there are quite a few colour reference photos to draw from and also it could have feasibly been made in the colour. However, although I'm not particularly a fan of black-and-white film and television being colourised, I will be interested to see what they have done with 'The Daleks'.

I'm interested to see what it looks like. My initial feeling is that 405 line video isn't worth the bother as it's such poor image quality to start with. But I hope to be won over by the result.

Wasn’t Mind Robber recorded on 625 lines?
