I would love to type some stronger words but.. it ain’t worth the effort anymore. I did not expect any WHO, but I was interested in what comedy gems would be back, one epsiode of Citizen James... those in charge of this don’t care about us, their just playing their own little games to make them feel bigger then what they are. They enjoy seeing us get all worked up, be it WHO or other archive dealings and delight in kicking the legs out from underneath and then blaming us for getting worked up in the frist place. I’m hoping this is just a ‘on the day’ program announcement and a large BBC/ITV comedy find is yet to come, but to tell you the truth I’m done. It’s not worth the emotional investment anymore. I agree Mark. A very frustrating and disappointing reveal/announcement/press launch? The whole affair has been handled rather badly. Which is a shame because the return of more Sid James and the recently depated and wonderful Liz Fraser is something to be very happy about. Sad that Liz was denied the opportunity to see this.

One of only a handful of serials that i'd be thinking "Why did it have to be from this one?" if episodes got found from it, alongside Reign of Terror.[/quote] That’s the feeling I had with UWM 2. Of all the season 4 episodes to return. I’d have even preferred either episode 1 or 4 from the same story! Of course I was delighted with it’s return buu not AS delighted as I’d have been with anything else. And I seem to be in a minority of people who prefer episode 3 with its truly bonkers ‘dance of the fish people’. If it didn’t exist I’m sure fans would be clamouring to see how that was achieved on-screen. Because we’ve always had it it’s taken for granted I feel.

Any of the Dalek stories.
Masterplan - Game of Thrones on acid
Evil- Troughton , Marius Goring And the Daleks. Epic
Power - My personal favourite Dalek story and of course it’s unique position in the show’s history.
Hmmmmmmmmmm........
At a push I’ll plump for.......
Evil of the Daleks. - it builds and builds and so many people have said how great it was. I think ig is the story that would most benefit from being recovered.

I’d love to hear that CCS soundtrack.

I woildn’t be surprised if the episodes Paul has knowledge of are the missing eps of Reign.
I believe we will see that story complete one day.

The legacy of Graham’s hobby will endure for as long as people talk about Dr Who and for as long as this and other forums have a reason to exist.
RIP Graham Strong

Incidentally imho I've always thought the performances ( plus effects ) by Peter Hawkins as the Emperor Dalek & Wolfe Morris as Padmasambhava/the Great Intelligence are the 2 (or should that be 3?!) best ever guest voices in the whole history of Doctor Who. Got to agree on Wolfe Morrises Pamasambhava. Probably the creepiest vocal performance ever. God I wish we still had that one. I have a bit of a fixation with the DMP/Mission delegates so either the final “Victory!” scene of Mission with the original ‘planetarians’ or a clip of Brian Mosely as Malpha would be my left field choices.

The scene where Dr Vostok is revealed to be The Vostok, and that the first drilling project in his previous appearance was in fact an attempt to destroy the world. Unforgettable. Eh?

All I can think of is that Bedfordshire was mentioned some while back but I suspect it was some wag who was referencing Dalek Invasion of Earth. I’m sure the dump sites would have been much closer to W12 than that.

Is anything of any interest on these tapes? I’d be interested to know.

As it is a new year, shouldn't we be going back to #001 rather than #109?

The original showing of The Sea Devils 88-minute compilation was on Wednesday 27 December 1972 and then shown again in place of the cricket on Monday 27 May 1974. I remember missing the '72 repeat as we had to go to an Aunt's house and I wasn't allowed to watch Dr Who there. Still rankles to this day.

For sure Phil will have been to Singapore and many other TV Stations that may seem futile for us mere mortals. Not necessarily because he hopes to discover lost Who but also to check records relating to the bicycling system. We know he has found documentation in Africa that relates to the quest. Also he has spoken first hand to people who have given him invaluable information..
Also Phil HAS discovered at least one item that has primed the fuses ready for 'exploding the doors' on received wisdom. 'The Sky at Night' 'Moonbases' episode. No amount of phone calls would have found that instalment.
So whilst the reveal of a large cache of missing Who would be (and hopefully will be) revealed, I'm just enjoying the ride and looking forward to hearing anything more about this incredible endeavour.

Slightly off topic, but we have tele snaps relating to The War Machines that covers missing material, the battle in the warehouse. Not sure if there are any other instances of cut material from existing episodes having been 'tele snapped'.
