The tv review show ‘Junior Points of View’ used clips from contemporary shows including Dr Who. One poster on these forums remembers seeing a clip from Galaxy 4 being shownI.
One particular episode was presented by the actor playing Celation In the “Daleks’ Masterplan”..... in character!

“It includes footage from the BBC Archives including footage of a BBC audition in 1965 of David Bowie and the Lower Third, which included a performance of Chim-Chim-Cheree and Baby That’s A Promise.”
Would this be it? Sounds pretty obscure.

Some more exciting developments to kick off 2019.
Also Interesing to see what ‘redundant’ returns are mentioned there, especially ‘The Battle For Godfrey’s Cottage’ .

Quite. If some educated guesswork is applied, the probability of finding intact copies of BBC or ITV programming that is missing is very small. And if we are wishing for specific titles the likelihood becomes much slimmer. Even if Phil clears out of an old archive (or Cinema!) a thousand reels what percentage do you reckon would be uk tv? Then what would be ‘of interest’ ie missing. Then what of that is recoverable? Then of that, what is left that is ‘of further interest’? ie stuff people are particularly interested in?

Of course, the following week, in ‘Volcano’, we see New Year celebrations in Trafalgar Square. Though the Doctor and his companions don’t recognise them as that and the Doctor refers to the celebrations he witnessed after the ‘Relief of Mafeking’.

I actually thought the Rag Trade clip was more entertaining than much of the other stuff to be honest.

Of course Tlotoxl himself , actor John Ringham, had a reasonable likeness to the mighty Trought. Nowadays, apart from Reece Shearsmith, I’m stumped.

Interesting stuff. We can all play at being missing episode hunters!
The BBC stuff appears to be a lot of Horizon and factual stuff as well as natural history and contemporary social affairs documentaries. I did spot YTVs Magnus and the Beansteak which was Magnus Pyke’s first TV outing apparently.
No idea if any of this stuff is officially missing but such a lot from the 60s and early 70s, I wouldn’t be surprised.
