I'm amazed that they were "shown three times in all".

This is great news, but where were they found? Private collector or old archive?

So happy that these episodes of the Likely Lads & the TDUDP episode have finally been made available.A close friend of mine was involved in the initial recovery of these way back in March 2007.They were 'aquired' by an ex BBC technician when they were lying about in a skip waiting to be junked. He kept them at home in the loft where he had a 16mm projector to view his growing collection of approx 50 cans of film which my friend,Chris perry & Andrew Martin from the BBC discovered in the attic after he sadly passed away.Other titles in the collection included a missing Sykes ...and a marriage,Steptoe - A winters Tale (in colour perhaps),the already recovered Likely Lads - 'other side of the fence',a series 3 episode of The Rag Trade (not sure if it was the recent 'Baby Dolls' episode or a different episode),Til Death Us Do Part - 'Sex Before Marriage' & the hitherto missing 'State Visit' episode,Dad's Army -'The battle of Godfrey's Cottage' which had been found two or three years earlier as well as many other BBC programmes many of which were and still are missing.Hopefully all the other film cans are now in safe hands.James Leigh mentioned the recovery on this very forum back in 2007 but was somewhat ridiculed for being dishonest and highly dubious Nov 14, 2007 4:20:35 GMT jamesleigh said: The Likely lads episodes,a missing 1967 ep of Til death us do part as well as numerous unlabelled reels shall become available in the next few weeks.

Network have the two 'Likely Lads' and the 'Til Death' episodes on the DVD/BluRays but I have not read anywhere that they have been returned to the BBC.
They may have been licensed for release but still held by the collector as far as we know.
Does anyone know if the filmprints have actually been returned to the BBC??

Some more exciting developments to kick off 2019.
Also Interesing to see what ‘redundant’ returns are mentioned there, especially ‘The Battle For Godfrey’s Cottage’ .

Some more exciting developments to kick off 2019. Also Interesing to see what ‘redundant’ returns are mentioned there, especially ‘The Battle For Godfrey’s Cottage’ . It might be a better quality copy - or uncut/undamaged (there seems to be a jarring edit right at the end of the "skip recovery" version of Cottage when Bill Pertwee suddenly appears out of nowhere) Will more details be announced for any of the other extant films from this collection (50 cans mentioned at the top of this thread!)
