Just a short question. I was wondering whether the telesnaps for the Time Meddler have any record of the lost twelve seconds from episode four. Do we even know if telesnaps for the time meddler exist?

Cura took 72 telesnaps in Ep. 3 but only 56 in Ep. 4 (so about one every 20 seconds or so). There is quite a significant break in the tele snap sequence when the Vikings are confronted by the Saxons and brutally done to death. I wonder if telesnaps were taken of this sequence (which was later edited) and then discarded? If so, by whom?

Readig the notes at the bottom of the Destruction of Time page, apparently there are missing telesnaps from episode 4, including that sequence. No one knows where they are. Might be possible to locate them if a collector has them. I doubt there has been much effort put into locating telesnaps of existing episodes.

If so, then why didn't they reconstruct it using cutaways on the dvd

Well, there was an extra on The Time Meddlers DVD that tried. It was called Episode 4 - The Lost Twelve Seconds - a reconstruction of sorts, audio + script excerpt.

Slightly off topic, but we have tele snaps relating to The War Machines that covers missing material, the battle in the warehouse. Not sure if there are any other instances of cut material from existing episodes having been 'tele snapped'.

I was looking at these, and if anyone remembers, Cura often cut his strips of tele-snaps into 4s. It looks as though this entire sequence was presented on a strip of its own; after all, at this time his tele-snaps were quite lavish and well spread out, depending on which sequences he was snapping. At this time, don't forget, he would only snap the producer and director credits (also an actor or member of the production team who wanted them in advance), so it's likely that he took many snaps for this sequence, and also at least 8 snaps of the ending.
So, on top of what we have, I'd say there were 4 snaps for the lost scene, maybe 2 snaps for the dematerialising Tardis (or even 3 considering he was always a 60-80 man), and with 4 extra shots of Vicky, Steven and the Doctor in space, as well as space itself, after having snapped the producer / writer credits, it seems that, instead of 56 snaps, this episode could have had as many as 69 when the snaps were originally taken.
They were found in a drawer, after all, so it won't surprise me if some went missing; we were kind of lucky to get these ones when we did!
