I don't think he was erstwhile in the 60's. Only if you wrongly think the word means 'esteemed', as many seem to do.

I wonder if the SA-produced James Bond radio drama starring Bob Holness exists? I assume not or we'd have heard examples of it by now.

The Jerry Reed one is in b&w unless they coloured it using chromadots or other methods.

About bloody time!!!! They've been sitting on those episodes for so long, I was beginning to wonder if we'd ever get to see them!

I agree that cropping and zooming is generally a crime against ratios but saying a clip is "unwatchable" because of it is ridiculously over the top. "BEATLES TOTP FOOTAGE FOUND - CROPPED AND ZOOMED VERSION AVAILABLE TO VIEW NOW" I'm thinking that would be watchable. 🤣 What about a Beatles clip with a huge horrible logo that covers more of the screen than you could believe possible? There's been plenty of those.

Just as an aside, I find it interesting that in all my years of radio collecting I've never seen an episode of Savile's Travels on anyone's list, ever. I should make it clear don't want to hear one, I couldn't give a monkeys, but the lack of recordings gives me the impression people have been avoiding him for years, even before they knew.

I've read elsewhere that some people are seeing some VERY political ads on youtube re:current news. And youtube isn't supposed to allow that type of ad.

The copyright holder won’t take MP3s I’ve tried … In these days where disc space and bandwith are a hundred times as cheap as they once were, you might as well go for wav files, 44.1 or 48. There's also a neat trick to reduce the noise. With an editing program you select a bit of silence, so that is a sample of JUST the noise. The program then subtracts that from the proper audio. No no no, this is a really horrible way of reducing sound and leaves lots of horrible artifacts. Maybe it was good 20 years ago, but there are a lot of better ways of doing this now. It's a quick easy fix that sounds impressive at first glance, but it makes the audio sound really strange and unnatural.

I vaguely remember seeing the video as a small child. Always wanted to rewatch it to see if it matched my memories. Parts of it kindof do (although remembered in b&w as we had a b&w tv at the time). I'd have been about 4 unless it was repeated sometime later.

Thanks. I did search on youtube and order by date and there was nothing appropriate within the last 3 weeks.

Nice to get to hear the episode rather than have it locked away!
That page says the BBC only have 7 episodes from the 40's, anyone have a list of the dates? (I know two of them are 1942.10.29 & 1943.02.16)
Looking on tvbrain.info it says that eleven episodes (ranging 1950-63) exist as domestic recordings.

Nice quality for (presumably?) a domestic recording. Early too.
