I am rather taken aback by the rampant speculation this thread has engendered. A person no-one on this board has even met started claiming that they have missing DW, and suddenly we're all talking about stumping up to pay for the tapes... George D has it right - the claimant, 'Mick', or indeed anyone who says they've got something undiscovered must show some proof that there is missing DW. It doesn't take much effort in the way of off-screen photos sent through email, or a few minutes of footage recorded on a cameraphone, to provide such proof. But somehow, and to my lasting regret, I don't think that sort of proof will be forthcoming on this one... A little suprised by this post. It's a massive jump to say we're all 'suddenly talking about stumping up to pay for the tapes'. I've seen nothing more than friendly discussion and a couple of innocent questions about hypothetical situations.. Didn't mean to offend - I just felt that people were jumping the gun a little, that's all. I certainly hope that I'm wrong!

Hello Missing Episode Guys, you may have to un-lock this thread. I have only just found this site today thanks to David, and firstly I must apologise for getting up the hopes of all on the board. It was my post on CHFB that seems to have set this off. I wrote that I had Episode 2 of Web of Fear, which was a wynd-up to another collector that used that site. Just a one on one thing, but then some Loud mouth American ( Sorry if there's any of our American Colleagues on here) got involved, which escalated it. All the rest was true, the other episodes, getting some from Australia. Except having a copy of Web of fear pt2. You tend not to think how many people in the world will see it. It was just a joke between the two of us. Anyway I'm just trying to set the record straight, hence joining the site. Which looks very interesting, and if I'm forgiven I maybe of some help to you guy's who don't seem to know how us Film collectors click...

Thanks for the clarification Paul.
I guess now the thread can be closed.

Brad, JF, Denny: Why should the thread need to be closed? I never understand why people want to stop others from commenting... And it shouldn't be necessary to close the thread - it should just go away on it's own.

Paul we welcome you to this board with open arms. I appreciate you willingness to share your film collecting experience with us and we appreciate any ideas you can share with us. Glad you're a Dr Who fan and I hope you stick around. PS. The best way to be forgiven is to help us find us a missing episode

I know it'll die a natural death in the end.

Either that or be resurrected years from now when someone on a future missing episodes forum decides to investigate your claim that you have Mission to the Unknown in your sock drawer!

Or, if one starts a missing episode rumor, be sure to have a loud mouth American to blame when the rumor spreads. ;-)

Thanks for understanding Guys, Those Americans will drive you up the wall... I did have to straighten it out when I saw what had gone on. I'm not a hoaxer, but I do love a Joke... I just didn't think so many would be involved... I do hope can help out. Though George, I have found a few lost episodes, just not Dr Who.. I sold the Boyed Q.C. (Hurricane) a few years back, also The Sierra 9 episode, which was silent, the name of which escapes me at the moment. A nice fellow off Ebay bought them, and had said he had put them back where they belong. I had a couple of odds a guy bought from me, who said he was going to put them back in the BFI.... weather he did, or not I don't know, he never got back in touch. He was coming back for other stuff, but never did. They weren't any thing special, some Royal Shakespeare stuff produced for the B.B.C. and a fashion show in Technicolor with a Miss Hepburn in. So I have done a little bit in some ways...
