With the speculation that the recently uncovered episodes may be be released on a 'Lost in Time II', I was wondering if any other material (clips etc)l have been uncovered since the first one. I can't think that any have, but others here will be better informed than I. The first one was crammed with goodies, it would seem a shame to have just the two episodes and the probable mini-documentaries on the second...
Having said that of course, I will be buying the episodes however and whenever they are released!
I cant recall a great deal coming back in the way of clips since the release of the highly excellent Lost in time DVD set. Wasn't there a tiny snippet of power of the daleks or does the memory decieve?
Either way, it will certainly be nice to settle back with the popcorn when these two episodes get some form of release
Sorry to hijack this thread but what else could potentially be on this set inform of extras. Is there any behind the scenes footage or un seen material from the 60's left?

I dont know what else is out there. They said an announcement of how they will be released is expected in 2012, which could be almost 12 months away. If they are talking about a new LIT II, it could be an updating of the old one or if we're lucky, in 2012 we could have more things appear to make a fuller package
As things stand, there'll be no unseen episodes to release in the 50th anniversary year,so I'm a bit surprised that the two recently-discovered episodes are due to be released this year. After all,it's not as if they complete their respective stories. Of course, they could go onto an expanded Lost in Time vol.one...
You could take the, now, two episodes of UM and add audios of 1 and 4 (like Moonbase on LIT). Then there are probably some stills, maybe some in colour. With GF there's a lengthy clip to go with the (almost) complete episode and, again, audios and stills.
Hacker: You said you'd heard this rumour, I said is it true, you said yes! Bernard: I said yes, it was true that it was a rumour. Hacker: You said you heard it was true! Bernard: No, I said it was true that I heard it!
I'm playing some of Lost in Time at the moment, and there's a measly 6 commentaries for 18 episodes. Given that these episodes are difficult to get into, because they're stranded, there must be a good case for re-releasing the set with perhaps a commentary for every episode. It could make financial sense, especially if they don't have the biggest names involved.
Given that these episodes are difficult to get into
Ive never realy found the orphaned episodes diffidult to get into! This may have something to do with listening to ropey off air recordings since the late 80s on C90 cassettes though
I think if they animate the two underwater menace episodes and include the recon they bought from derek for galaxy four.. add a few commentaries and the g4 clip, it could make a very saleable package. It would have two episodes not seen since the 60s and two stories comprising of episodes and recons. These two episodes found were publicized very much on the news and a package around them done right could generate revenue if they strike while the iron is hot.
Think this is a great idea as well. I would dearly like to see something like this "materialize" in the Universe of Doctor Who. I am very interested, as we all are here in hearing what might be in the works so to speak.
Of course, completely understand in that when there is something on the books, that am sure we will be the first to know here on the board. As the upcoming Daemons release and Invasion Of The Dinosaurs releases were announced here, quite a while before there were any pre-order's available no less. I would not call that sluggish, or slow here by any means, quite the opposite in all actuality.
I agree, in that just hearing that these will be released at all, is fantastic news. However, look at the events surrounding DMP2 ( Day Of Armageddon ) , this was included as the crowning jewel for the Lost In Time DVD release.
When the 1st season episodes of The Avengers were discovered in the UCLA Film Library, these very quickly saw DVD release. As there was the Emma Peel Mega-set which had just been released. These episodes, along with some other rare archival tid-bits were included to create a stand-alone bonus release. This would seem to make far more sense here than a completely new Vol.II, More than likely a Vol. I.5 , this would seem to make far more sense here. All this is speculation, I await concrete news, like so many others, in regards to seeing this material on our TV screens, and collections in the new year!
Greg: Yes indeed, there was that short ( think almost 15 seconds of footage ). Which amazingly went to air on an edition of Tomorrows World. Was recognized by a fan as being extremely unique, and missing-lost.
This was sourced from the wikipedia listing on Power Of the Daleks:
In 2004, all known surviving clips were released on the Lost in Time DVD. Following the DVD's release, two further short clips—along with a higher-quality version of one of the extant scenes—were discovered in a 1966 episode of the BBC science series Tomorrow's World. The clips only came to light on 11 September 2005, when the relevant section was broadcast as part of an edition of the clip-based nostalgia show Sunday Past Times on BBC Two. These clips were subsequently included in the documentaries "The Dalek Tapes", on the Genesis of the Daleks DVD release, and "Now Get out of That", on the Terror of the Vervoids disc in The Trial of a Time Lord box set.
To answer the question as you can see, this footage has already found a release on DVD recently.
Looking forward to what the new year may bring! Fingers Crossed !!
Lost in Time 1(a) had 3 discs with 18 episodes (6 of which had commentaries),plus several audio-only eps.,plus every recently-found clip. Lost in Time 2,or even LIT 1b would have to go some to beat that.Granted I'd read the Target novelisations (some of which even stuck quite closely to the actual broadcast story, though not as closely as the later books) I still think that the average earnest younger fan would have benefited from a bit more support to get into a story when they only had a beginning,a middle,or and end.Never all three, discounting the audios.I found those audios difficult to follow, too, without any naration.Interludes without dialogue, sometimes without identifiable sound-effects,can be a bit trying. Speaking of which,I think there's a special case to be made for animating the-in effect-stand-alone Feast of Stephen episode. It seems unlikely to turn up in the near future, and a lot of time is spent in paying homage to silent movies.Frustrating in audio! Nope,if a four part story can have four commentaries, then orphan episodes should have one each to give 'the story so far' or 'what happens next' and a couple of lines about its recovery,as well as the usual "I can't remember anything about this episode,at all".Although it might have been done for cost reasons (?) it was nice to hear a few commentaries from people who aren't the usual suspects.
