I admitted that it was all over on January 1st 2014. I just have the feeling that if there was any more we would know about it by now. If everyone has their focus on one man. More episodes may suddenly turn up from a private collection.

"It's far from over"-William Hartnell tenth planet. (Sorry. Couldn't resist)
I think the recovery of episodes is not over, but What will be recovered and how I think will turn out differently than the rumors

As long as there are parts of episodes missing, I will be hoping for more recoveries. We have found out that film in even very unfavourable weather and such can be recovered and restored. So 50 years is a long time, but maybe something else turns up. If I didn't hope, I wouldn't be here.
I also agree that recoveries will be coming in from unexpected angles. Anyone else here remember the find of "The Tomb of the Cybermen"? That literally came out of nowhere. Yes, it is far less likely now, but still, it will take more time to sift through all sorts of film out there.

I think in Phil Morris you have someone who will scour all corners of the globe and hell and high water to find missing TV so it's not over until he deservedly puts his feet up and watches all of the Who episodes back to back on DVD. Or online etc;
I'm sure that he will inspire others to search in unexpected places too.

If Phil Morris HAS found anything else - it will be released all at once, otherwise he would be inundated with 'what else have you got' questions. Therefore if the omnirumour is true we have a long wait! Presumably WOF is his most significant find if it was released with an episode missing. Any releases will be influenced by financial considerations - probably they thought that the best way to release EOW would be alongside a classic such as WOF. Perhaps they fear that historicals such as Marco Polo or the Massacre will not arouse as much interest and can only be released alongside monster episodes such as Macra or even Faceless Ones. Whilst most of us would eagerly purchase odd episodes of the Highlanders or the Space Pirates, perhaps they fear lack of interest from Joe Public. I think this fear is unfounded as Airlock has been well received, UM2 is eagerly awaited 3 years on, and EOW is much more highly thought of since its release. Nevertheless Phil Morris needs to maintain 'radio silence' if he is still trying to negotiate with TV authorities or collectors. I suppose we must be patient, although this is becoming increasingly difficult. If money is the driving factor, perhaps we can hope for a statement ahead of the new series in September.......

I think this is going to be years in the future.
It's a massive undertaking and expect it to take time

It would never be all at once ! Not good business sense ! You think about it And as for the search over ? Because of private collectors,and no one knowing if these things were actually destroyed as they should of been. You could say the search wont be over in our life time

You could say the search wont be over in our life time There has been a steady trickle of "lost" Who returns in every decade. 70's (various stories) 80's (various stories) 90's (notably IW/TOTC) 00's (notably those from Burnett) 10's (EOTW/WOF) I think when it gets to the point where a decade goes by without anything else turning up either from a foreign archive or private collector, then that will be it for Doctor Who imo).

Apart from private collectors, yes i agree with that. Private collectors are very secretive ! So i dont think you could say 10, or 20 years is it !
