I personally found great value.. not from the recent articles but the skaro recording of the Steve Roberts interview. The articles may reveal information, but listening to the recording puts them in the context they were originally intended.
Things I got out of the recording were...
1. He doesnt have any more info than anyone else and he doesnt believe PV does either. So if he doesnt, and he's involved, why would the rumor mongers know more?
2. All the rumors about RT at work restoring are bunk because they're not.
3. The rumor that PM is restoring he doesnt believe because his belief is PM's contract is any restoration work would be done by the RT.
4. Underwater Menace animation sadly appears to have stopped. What the reason is, is anyone's guess.
5. The comment about Marco being recovered was not something instigated by SR. Rather it was in response to a question about its recovery and his thoughts were because there were the most prints, it would be one of those most likely to be recovered.
6. He believes that the openness about rumors/articles etc is hurtful to the cause because many are calling stations for information which not only could put PMs life on the line, but also, if these third world countries thought these things have a lot of importance they could hide them before pm has a chance to get them.
7. He believes there is a good chace of an announcement with a year reason being that he doesnt want to be viewed as a hoarder instead of a hero.
8. The search appears still ongoing and we have to respect PMs need to negotate this such that he does the job completely but also is reimbursed for his expense.
Whats true or not, I cant say, but based on SR's comments, this is what I believe he believes.

Sounds like there have been some serious leaks of important information, especially when the media were reporting the find on TV last fall before an announcement was finally made. When information of this nature is uncovered, isn't it only given to essential personnel that would absolutely need to know about it? I mean, it isn't being passed on to others who don't need to know, right? The fewer people that know about it, the better chance of it not spreading like wildfire. They were able to keep episode 3 of Galaxy Four and episode 2 of The Underwater Menace quiet until around the time of the Missing - Believed Wiped event that year. If these rumors are true, and I am not saying they are, I wonder what went wrong that allowed this information to get out like it has.

George,I had a quick listen, and didn't he say, near the beginning, that he believes more episodes have been discovered, though as you say none have been handed to the RT?He says that he thought the BBC would be most likely to send new finds to the RT because they had in the past, and only they can do Vidfire, though he wonders if there's anything to stop others being given the task. He mentions that the BBC will have wanted to be sure "that they hadn't been sold a pup" so wanted Web and Enemy checked as soon as possible. He seems to conjecture that Phil hadn't tried playing the prints, since the joins would have separated if they'd been put through a projector. It seems like the sort of thing I would have expected PM to have mentioned personally,if there had been much communication between him and the RT. I get the impression-a transcript might help-that though he's had no direct confirmation,third-party information leads him to say that there ARE more episodes held. There's then a reference to PM tending to keep his own council.

So is it possible to be clear on this, has the animation of the missing episodes of Underwater Menace been stopped or not? There seems, as always to be a lot of conflicting information out there.

At the risk of being a wet blanket....
Philip Morris has recovered nine missing episodes of Dr Who, two missing Sky at Nights, an unwatchable missing Morecambe and Wise and, reportedly, a missing Basil Brush.
That's actually pretty good and there are many people out there searching who'd be very happy to have recovered that much material.
I find it hard to believe that there weren't other cans of film with the above but why should we assume that the contents were missing ? There are plenty of, for example, episodes of Dr Who that were sold all over the world and have been quite happily sitting in archives for years.

Do you think you could...It says 'Patrick Troughton' on the label?
