It's not 100% clear exactly what the building in Jos where PM found the others, is. Relay station/tv station or just storage place. However, regardless of which it was/is one would presume that the other stories would have been housed there at some point, and would therefore be around "somewhere" (given that the Nigerians do have that amazingly good track record of being hoarders). I think it was supposed to be where BPTV used to be and became a relay station of what came after BPTV. I think Paul V's view (and I can be corrected if I'm wrong) is that Abominable and Wheel (and likely Web 3) were sent back to Lagos where they were junked and it's blind luck that the nine missing eps that remained in Jos just didn't get junked. A great pity Tho we have two classics back !

But weren't the recoveries from Midwest TV found in Lagos ? From what I recall reading, the archive in Lagos was junked just a little too soon before BPTV would have realistically sent the Doctor Who stuff. The archive in Lagos was a separate archive. As in those days, each station kept its own archive. It is entirely feasible that the tv station who had the archive in Lagos (which btw wasn't Midwest or BPTV) got rid of all of its own stuff in order to make way for the archives of the other broadcasters. And btw, from a post of Paul's on 24th September 2012 in the same thread, was he thus aware of the recovery of EOTW/WOF ? It would certainy seem so. Sept 24, 2012 10:34:09 GMT 2 Paul Vanezis said: Jon Preddle Avatar Sept 22, 2012 22:09:23 GMT 2 Jon Preddle said: Yes, she probably would have, assuming of course that BPTV still had possession of those prints at the time of amalgamation. Obviously we've looked into the situation in Nigeria. One thing I think we can all agree on with Ian is that he is thorough. I asked him way back whether it was possible for anything else to have survived there and he was confident he'd exhausted all possibilities. I had no reason to disbelieve him. Other countries though did have material at the same time and attitudes there were quite different, as we now know for Sierra Leone. That is a bigger problem for me; if someone had travelled there in 1984 they would have been able to watch 'The Savages' on telly. Paul

It may be so, although oddly enough Phillip Morris seemed rather convinced that Web 3 may still be out there somewhere when he was doing interviews back in October so it can't be as clear cut as some may think.

All I recall is him believing that there was more to find - with no indication of what or where.

All I recall is him believing that there was more to find - with no indication of what or where. He said he couldn't promise anything, but he held out hope for Web 3 being found. Will have to dig up interview Here ya go, asked about Web 3 still being lost - Hopefully, at some point, I would like to think we could recover that. We'll see. There are no promises on that

I find that 6 episodes in many B/W stories are very padded ! Polo i think as a historical will also suffer from this ! I've been unable to sit through Marco Polo. There are scenes I adore, but there was too much dragging of the feet. Aztecs was the best historical that season. First time I watched Marco it took me awhile to get through. I've seen it about 5 times and I enjoy it now.

I have the Sensorites on DVD,but can't bring myself to watch it as I never enjoyed it on video.Maybe commentary over the top will help me enjoy it.Very much a product of it's time,I just can't engage with it.I even bought the audio book narrated by William Russell, but that was tough going as well and never finished it. Some scenes are too long (particularly the Sensorites advancing on the companions in the beginning). And the ending was anti-climatic for antagonist Sensorite, and we don't get to see his final scene. They just say he's been defeated. I do appreciate the attempts to add character to Susan though. I loved her scenes. It's funny that her telepathic abilities are more stronger than THE DOCTORS

No doubt there's now a few people thinking "Why would the boot of his car be dangerous?"

All I recall is him believing that there was more to find - with no indication of what or where. He did say that he thought that Tenth Plant part 4 was out there. This is amazing as this was the first time that I had read an episode hunter actually go on record to say that, let alone whether it is ever found or not;it was refreshing and heartening to hear someone like Philip Morris actually say that!

Sounds more like a "you know what, having found this lot anything's possible" to me. In other words - he doesn't know where they are, he's just going to keep looking and hope it turns up!

That's exactly what his plan is. He's certainly optimistic, we can certainly give him that (and I just noticed that would have been the perfect opportunity for a sock drawer joke, definitely more dangerous than a car boot).
