Why would the BBC issue a statement now if they have called a press conference about this. Surely thats the whole point of the press conference, to release what information they have to the press.

The only thing that has me intrigued is the report of this press conference tomorrow. The trouble is either: - there is an embargo on announcing it - In which case why would the Mirror defy that and damage their chances of attending? or - there is no embargo - In which case why isn't this news running across the board? The fact that the BBC news site (among many others) hasn't reported this as news leaves too much doubt for me. In about 30 hours we should know whether the Mirror/People and Radio Times were the omni-rumour's latest victims. I agree with you Justin. The BBC news site would be the clincher for me,or even a short piece on BBC Breakfast. So no,not a sausage, not even on CEEFAX. I would assume that real-life events may take precedence on BBC Breakfast over missing ep recovery. You know, things like violence in Egypt flaring up again, US Govt. shutdown, Nobel Prize announcements, Prince Harry may be getting engaged, stuff like that. Seriously, if you're a BBC Breakfast producer, would you rather spend ten minutes on Doctor Who or Prince Harry. In your heart, you know that the answer is.

The trouble is BBCWW are the supposed conference organisers so the BBC themselves should feel free to report that a press conference is being held. It wouldn't be the first time the Beeb announced an announcement of an announcement #Save The Day

How can destroyed episodes be found? There was a very direct message from certain parties a few months ago saying that they were all destroyed, the end, so how can anyone believe that they have been found, dusted down and be released later this week ? It is not credible and I will not be taken in by this rubbish. I take it that you won't be downloading the episodes or buying the DVDs on the off chance you could be wrong since you don't want to be taken in by this rubbish?

But small/popular news items ARE reported on BBC Breakfast relating to entertainment, the Arts etc, normally after 8.30 A.M and I definitely remember it's report on Airlock and UM2 when they were found a couple of years back,as well as a report about them on it's teletext service.

And presumably, it was done after the news officially broke, not before. I'll assume that BBC Breakfast will tackle it when it has footage it can show, not before.

No. Has any frame or clip of any missing episode been released, similarly to the release/leaking of other episodes? No. It's a hoax.
