If it was just the daily mirror then i'd be in the non believer camp, but now the radio times have weighed in too beginning to think there may be a little bit of truth in it... The Radio Times are nothing to do with the BBC anymore.

How can destroyed episodes be found? That really is against the laws of physics. It is, isn't it? These hoaxers must expect us to believe in magic. It's not as if there was any way to make copies of the episodes for overseas markets before destroying the originals. It's all just ridiculous nonsense. If thats the case why are any lost?

The Radio Times are nothing to do with the BBC anymore. Good thing too, if they are going to LIE to us about something as emotive as this.

Amazing, this forum has said for months that all the rumours are bunk, then the Daily Mirror publishes something and it's all real? Some people have been saying it's bunk... some have carefully said other things... wait til tomorrow and find out for sure

Amazing, this forum has said for months that all the rumours are bunk, then the Daily Mirror publishes something and it's all real? I don't think that anyone was convinced by the Daily Mirror article, it was the Radio Times article that swung it. The fact that it hasn't been withdrawn would certainly suggest to me that it's accurate. There are some ardent fans working at the Radio Times who as members of fandom are well aware of how fandom would react if this was a hoax, and they'd have ensured that if the article was inaccurate it would have been pulled by now. Please post under a full real name. No handles are allowed, as per forum rules. Thanks - Laurence.

They're not lost....just misplaced :-) I've heard a rumour that something's turned up at bbc tv centre, right under everyone's noses for forty years! If that's true......

If it was just the daily mirror then i'd be in the non believer camp, but now the radio times have weighed in too beginning to think there may be a little bit of truth in it... The only thing that has me intrigued is the report of this press conference tomorrow. The trouble is either: - there is an embargo on announcing it - In which case why would the Mirror defy that and damage their chances of attending? or - there is no embargo - In which case why isn't this news running across the board? The fact that the BBC news site (among many others) hasn't reported this as news leaves too much doubt for me. In about 30 hours we should know whether the Mirror/People and Radio Times were the omni-rumour's latest victims.

Ian Levine posted something regarding an embargo, he also stated Wednesday several times before the Radio Times article was published

I agree with you Justin. The BBC news site would be the clincher for me,or even a short piece on BBC Breakfast. So no,not a sausage, not even on CEEFAX.

You have to understand how BBCW works. It's separate from the BBC.
Announcement tomorrow, trust me.

What can I say I live in hope, but expect nothing - definition of a Dr Who fan nightmare - a whole bunch of 60s tv episodes have been found but no Who! Arrrrggghhhhhh!
Anyways, I'll wait and see on Wednesday morning. By the time I get up it will all be over...

There wouldn't be, as no BBC press release has been issued - yet.

The last time multiple sites where posting of missing episodes being found (96 i recall) the BBC issued a statement, but now with (questionable) tabloids releasing information and the RT i would have thought something would have been said, even if it was that there is to be a press release or that it was all rubbish. When Matt Smith's departure was announced some papers broke the embargo early but the BBC news site didn't. Does Ceefax still exist??
