Goodness me! That is so many shades of awful I cannot, for the life of me, begin to describe it. EDIT: Apologies if it's your own work I'm dissing. Didn't mean to sound so judgemental (I'm a singer and guitarist and just, like, brain-farted my gut reaction...). No problem I appreciate the honesty- the idea was to re-record it in a more commercial vein for an annoucement but it looks like there won't be time - will direct you to the fully realised version if and when it appears. (an if you can put up with it for a 3rd time!) I remember the first demo version from a few years ago. Although the execution of the song was very rough, I could still hear beyond that and thought it was actually quite a good song - a quirky concept, good chord progression, amusing lyrics that scanned well and rhymed cleverly, and it has stayed in my mind all this time although I only heard it possibly twice in total. The band version sounds better still. But I swear I never, ever dreamt that there could be a remote possibility that the song's premise might one day be fulfilled. (Why Web 5 in particular?)

How can destroyed episodes be found? There was a very direct message from certain parties a few months ago saying that they were all destroyed, the end, so how can anyone believe that they have been found, dusted down and be released later this week ? It is not credible and I will not be taken in by this rubbish.

How can destroyed episodes be found? Copies were made and the fate of some of these copies is unknown. It is presumed they were destroyed but we simply don't know if someone picked up an episode or two like Airlock and UM2 before they were supposed to be destroyed and have been sitting on them for x number of years. This means that something could turn up, more unlikely these days but not impossible.

Don't want to sound thick but what is iTunes Apple's music (& video) store - allows people to purchase & download media content in digital form - i.e. not disc (primarily to play on apple devices)

It is not credible and I will not be taken in by this rubbish. You know... I *was* foolishly looking forward to seeing some newly recovered '60s Doctor Who this week... ... but you have convinced me. There is *absolutely* no reason on earth why people in the know would be obliged to keep quiet and (for professional or contractual reasons) misdirect. I was stupid and naïve to think this may have been the case. It's clear the search of African archives has yielded nothing, and we are being hoaxed in horrible (yet unconvincing) detail by the Radio Times. I thank you so much for clearing this up and relieving me of my delusion. I guess I'll just have to watch something else on Wednesday as I cry over my bitter disappointment at being taken in by such an imaginative deception.

Tom Spilsbury is quoted on Facebook as saying, "it's nonsense, I'm afraid".
Surely he would know to be able to put out the magazine?

If you are so adamant they are destroyed then why are you on a forum dedicated to the recovery of missing episodes if it is a lost cause?

How can destroyed episodes be found? That really is against the laws of physics. It is, isn't it? These hoaxers must expect us to believe in magic. It's not as if there was any way to make copies of the episodes for overseas markets before destroying the originals. It's all just ridiculous nonsense.

Amazing, this forum has said for months that all the rumours are bunk, then the Daily Mirror publishes something and it's all real?

If it was just the daily mirror then i'd be in the non believer camp, but now the radio times have weighed in too beginning to think there may be a little bit of truth in it...

I would go as far as to say it's some form of viral marketing scam, but still a hoax.
