Hopefully episodes 4 and 5 of Reign of Terror might turn up one day, Paul; V. said along with Marco Polo these are the ones more likely to turn up.

Not least because I'd never have to watch those awful animations again. Personally I love the ROT animations. They do the story justice and I actually prefer them over the Ice Warriors animations...at the moment!Don't know how I'll feel about them in a few months though! It does take time for your senses to get used to animation in the midst of a live action serial,it's actually quite unsettling so it does become easy to be critical about it.However,Ronald Pickup and Toby Hadoke's commentary for episode 4 is wonderful and does help you to get used to the animated visuals,so I will go back and watch again without commentaries.ROT is a wonderful piece of early 60's Dr.Who-I love the intimate nature of the production and it is such a shame 4 and 5 don't exist as live action episodes.

Or at the who convention on anniversary weekend Which would probably imply that none of the theoretical recovered eps haven't quite been restored enough to justify a DVD release this year. I've always said an announcement would most likely be in Sept. or Oct. so as orders could be taken for retailers to have them ready for Christmas, preferably before Black Friday.

Or at the who convention on anniversary weekend Which would imply that the recovered eps weren't quite in a condition to be released to DVD or Blu-Ray yet. It always been my thinking that if any eps or series had been both recovered and restored and ready for DVD/Blue-Ray release, there would be an announcement in Sept. or Oct. so that retailers could take orders for the Christmas season. Presumably retailers would want something ready for the shelves before Black Friday.

I have to be honest, if The Invasion 1 and 4 and The Ice Warriors 2 and 3 never turn up, I am absolutely happy to have the animations. For Reign of Terror, until those episodes show up (and I'm confident that one day they will be found somewhere), I will be digging out the audio versions for 4 and 5 or watching the Loose Cannon recon which is far more in tune with the production.

Well my earliest memory of who is running madly through the streets of leicester to get home in time to see ep 7 of "Invasion" as a 5 yr old. My son turns 4 in oct and the marathon showing of who commences for him then so the eps had better turn up soon coz i dont think he'll sit through reconstructions!!

I don't believe anything has been found, but I do find myself checking every day in hopes something has. I also believe we WILL see EVERY Doctor Who episode animated one day. The quality of future animations will dwarf the current ones. Remember that fan made Wheel in Space trailer? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. And that will be good enough for me.

There are a number of shots in the animation I don't like, and the design of Susan, but otherwise I do like the animation, I almost feel like I'm watching the episode.
The Ice Warriors is okay but I very much feel I'm watching animation especially after seeing the Reign of Terror, and what I've seen of The Tenth Planet, animation. I think it was a strange choice to do the Ice Warriors as they did, I guess they had their reasons for it.

Horses for courses. I think Reign of Terror is the best animation so far. As I said some time ago, when all the animations are in then we can start a thread and debate them all in ernest.

Well, they have said there is nothing that has been returned. Why has moonbase dvd been put back ? November is clear of a release. I suppose that until episodes have been restored and remastered they are not classed as back. Who knows. I dont think zygons dvd will tell us anything either. I bet the sales of that dvd will be big tho. The bbc should put this to rest once and for all. And are dr who monthly keeping future front covers under wraps ? This is like winning the lottery and loosing the ticket !!!

The bbc should put this to rest once and for all. Why should they? What if there isn't anything? It's rumour. The BBC doesn't owe anyone anything. I know all the possible arguments against that, but they really don't. If there is something, then they'll announce it when they think is best. If there isn't anything then I'm sure they've got better things to be dealing with.

"The BBC doesn't owe anyone anythBing."
But it does though ... it owes us every single programme it wiped; programmes made with public money, money from us lot and people like us. They were OUR programmes and the BBC wiped them.
