It could have been an elaborate publicity stunt on someone's part. Look at all the extra attention DW has received lately. The number of viewers in this forum alone has been much more than average at times.

I think its best just to wait to see what happens in November, im sure if anything has been recovered it will be revealed then. There doesn't seem much point in holding off an announcement till after such a big an event as the 50th. One things for sure, if there haven't been any recoveries then some people are going to end up with egg on their faces

Sorry for leaving quote without response. Here it is. Whichever way this goes people have been deliberately misinformed. If nothing has been found there are a number of posters here who have been lied to by people they trust. If things have been found then those same people have been made to look foolish at present by having their reports labelled "fantasies" etc. When this does finally get settled i hope we all treat each other with a good dealire respect in future. My own personal viewpoint has gone from one side to the other so often i'm exhausted. I think i'll just stay pessimistic now and hope for a pleasant surprise as and when . The story has just changed too often to be confident any more

I would be very happy to look a fool and wear egg on my face.

Whichever way it goes, people are going to be left with egg on their faces, and some fairly well-known people too. If episodes are found, I hope that people focus on that rather than singling out doubters. If nothing is found - well, when will it truly end? Some are already saying nothing will be announced this year. Hopefully, people will gradually lose interest and it will all fizzle out. I just hope there's not even worse unpleasantness than we've already seen.

The BBC have wiped their copy of the restored Unearthly Child? LOL. They must be preparing for the 50th anniversary of when they started to wipe and hacksaw Doctor Who.

No, it's just like the GEICO insurance ads in the States. The cavemen are objecting to the way they are portrayed!

Traveling through Time and Space. So easy, even a caveman can do it.

So the BBC publish a press release. Put it up. Take it down. Put it back up. Then suddenly (within a day) something happens to an episode of UC? Bizarre.

One of the more sensible rules on Gallifrey Base is that whatever the outcome of this, there should be no "ha ha, I was right, you were wrong"-type posts from anyone. I think that's something that it would be wise to adopt here.

It's going to be quite tough for the people who've tried soooooo hard to shout down the rumour only to be told the episodes are actually back Although there's one of two people I really would like to PM after the announcement...
