Blimey if they were safe and still around then that would be amazing, an almost complete season 3 and a fully surviving season 4 story! The Restoration Team, Peter Purves and Toby Hadoke would have to clear their schedules for a year!

Interesting rumour on GB. I may have got it wrong but it seems to suggest that the archive destroyed in Sierra Leone wasn't the video library at all but the gramophone library. This has lead to speculation that only audio was destroyed and a video archive may still exist. I'm paraphrasing, but that's the long and short of it. That's right. Lots of evidence has been found to show that the gramophone library was destroyed, and that the gramophone library was just that. In contrast, no evidence can be found to show the film archive was affected. What is the evidence?

In contrast, no evidence can be found to show the film archive was affected. What is the evidence? Never mind I've had a look on Gally Base myself. This is what was said: OK, for anyone who doesn't want to trawl through pages and pages of text, here is a summary of the Sierra Leone saga. On 13th December 2011 on the Missing Episodes Forum, a missing episode hunter said: On 15th Dec 2011 he said: On 16th Dec 2011 he said: (Note - except Mission to the Unknown and The Dalek Masterplan) So that includes missing stories GALAXY FOUR THE MYTHMAKERS THE MASSACRE THE SAVAGES THE CELESTIAL TOYMAKER THE SMUGGLERS And now the five articles discovered online: Official Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation report, no longer visible at the SLBC site. You can still see the report at web.archive.org/web/201308110...Final-Copy.pdfPage 17 Paragraph 6: A University thesis sites.rnw.nl/pdf/Popular-Musi...erra-Leone.pdfPage 58 paragraph 3: News article: politicosl.com/2013/05/twitte...gossip-280513/From an academic book: books.google.co.uk/books?id=6...20slbs&f=falseA university paper by by the same author: THE GRAMOPHONE LIBRARY OF THE SIERRA LEONE BROADCASTING SERVICE www.sierraleone-vibe.nstemp.com/contact.htmlWritten prior to its destruction, this paper details the history of the archive. It only covers sound. And to add to those five documents we have the Radio Times article which mentions Sierra Leone: www.radiotimes.com/news/2013-...or-<br /> not And we also have a Kasterborous article which has a comment disputing that the film archive was destroyed: www.kasterborous.com/2011/12/...-sierra-leone/

The same missing episode hunter said in 2012:
In answer to everyone (and to clarify a few misunderstandings) we did not know before very recently that Sierra Leone had retained material beyond their contract period. I am certain that some material was there until the late 1980's because material was broadcast out of contract. The station itself was not destroyed in 1999, but the building that stored all their film was.

I herd some news and it mite make sum sence to others:
Some time in the past, former companion is negotiating more for convention appearances. Said to someone: "You need us more now missing episodes are back."

That doesn't sound very promising, maybe someone on here should just phone them up and ask what they have!

The people involved would have checked this out thoroughly. Perhaps the situation has changed since PV's last comment and he is already aware, but can't say anything yet.

Just watched the two animated episodes of the Ice Warriors. IMHO the most suitable animation for the serial yet, better even than the Invasion. Lets hope the team that animated these episodes get a chance to do more.

I loved Tenth Planet 4, but Mondas did NOT explode like that in 1966. We won't need to go into what was wrong with Reign of Terror (especially part 4), but it shows how things have changed over the course of Doctor Who's animations.

I must admit I was a bit disappointed with the Ice Warriors animation. Victoria looked wrong to me. Also the hand/arm and head-turn movements were abrupt, to say the least. Overall I thought the Invasion animation was superior. I expect it was a case of what could be done for the budget. (I haven't seen the RoT animation, so can't compare.)

And also, can one fall in love with how a girl looked 45 years ago and then turned into a cartoon?Surely a mind-boggling situation...!

The Invasion animation was the best for me, but episodes 2-3 of The Ice Warriors are better than episodes 4-5 of The Reign of Terror. The movements of the characters in The Ice Warriors were different from what I had seen in previous animations. I can see why some were complaining about that. All things being considered, it is acceptable if the viewer can overlook that.
