Just checking through the BFI listings and it shows 07.11.74 as a different show which exists on 2-inch Quadruplex to the ITV listing for that date. Why are the dates so commonly different from ITV holdings in the BFI database? I think this MAY lie in the fact that there wre different broadcast times around the regions.

Found some references to watching "45" in my old diaries, sorry if these have already been listed in the thread - I have a vague memory of mentioning some of them before. Transmission dates are all Saturdays, and I was living in the Thames TV region at the time.

Ward, Alaska 12.10.74 : Robert Wyatt 26.10.74 : Lynsey de Paul, Cockney Rebel (‘Bed In The Corner’.. “plus their new single”) 02.11.74 : Hudson Ford (“..performing a track from their ‘Free Spirit’ album with a Moog solo in it..”) 09.11.74 : Janis Ian (‘The Man You Are In Me’), Mud (‘Blue Moon’) 30.11.74 : Sweet (‘Six Teens’ “..and two acoustic numbers”). 07.12.74 : Alvin Stardust, Roy Harper 14.12.74 : Hustler (‘Get Outa My 'ouse’), Bay City Rollers 25.01.75 : Pretty Things (‘Is It Only Love’ “..with the drummer using John Bonham’s green Ludwig kit”), Pilot, Cozy Powell’s Hammer 01.02.75 : Glitter Band (“..who had a weak sound, not very full at all..”) 08.02.75 : Babe Ruth (‘Private Number’.. “which was pretty good, especially as Jenny Haan was wearing a velvet catsuit with lace cloak..”) 15.03.75 : Rufus (“..featuring the lovely Chaka Khan”) 28.06.75 : Nazareth (‘My White Bicycle’)

Hi William ,I'm not sure if I've asked you before or not but I don't know if there is any info on the first series of 45 in the newspapers or not ,it began in April 1974 but I think the first series was only broadcast in the Granada region ,otherwise it was shown everywhere else on ITV from sept 74 right through to august 1975 either Thursday teatime or Saturday mornings depending on what region ,so any snippets of info you may come across would be great.

A photo taken from the Xmas day edition of Xmas rock with 45 from 1974 has been posted on the web ,which is excellent it is confirmation of who actually appeared that day as all the acts are gathered together on the 45 stage for a group PIC ,the acts that I can identify so far are bay city rollers ,queen ,ken Boothe ,Colin blunstone ,Mac and Katie mission and I think Russ Ballard and I think it looks like led gray as well but I'm not to sure at the moment, but its a great PIC.
