I have 3 very treasured memories of `45'. The fact that it was on after school was amazing, as they had some `album' acts usually restricted to the OGWT.
October 1974: Sparks performed `At Home, At Work, At Play`, `Thanks But No Thanks' and `Never Turn Your Back On Mother Earth' in support of their `Propaganda' album. Had it on an off air cassette tape for a short while back then...
May 1975: PFM performed a medley which ended with `William Tell Overture' (had this last few minutes on an off air cassette way back then). I am saying May 1975, it could have been late 1974, but they did make a similar appearance on OGWT in May 1975 which still exists (...and is in fact being released by Esoteric Records any time now).
Early 1975: Greenslade performed `Catalan'. I know this as I really took a liking to it and managed to catch the last couple of minutes on cassette, although I had no idea who the artist was or what the tune was called. About six months later the mystery was solved when my local radio station's rock show played the album version and identified it fully. Happy days, and still one of my favourite all time instrumentals.
I have a sinking feeling that none of these three exist, but would be interested in any further info anyone has.
AS PER FORUM RULES, PLEASE MODIFY YOUR POSTING NAME TO A FULL REAL ONE. THANKS - LAURENCE

I'd love to have seen the Sparks performence , i think 'Propaganda' was one of the best albums of the 70s along with 'Kimono My House' the Mael brothers at their best and it was so different from anything else at the time.

Does anyone know the exact date of the 45 show when The Sweet performed 'Fox on the Run'?

made a submission to Lost Shows.com for the following 2 episodes which Lost Shows.com say currently only exist on Umatic tape only and therefore exist on format inferior to the original. Kaleidoscope say the following are an upgrade in quality, so I am guessing, these 2 will cease to be Missing and Exist. ITV have confirmed to me that they do hold the following 2 episodes on the following format.. Series 45 Season 3 Episode 29 7/11/74 K C and The Sunshine Band..... Digital Tape... 24 minutes and 19 seconds. Series Rock On With 45 Season 4 Episode 29 16/1/75 Zig Zag, David Kid Jensen, Ace, Merlin, Gene Latter.....Digital Tape...23 minutes and 43 seconds.

Episode 29 is from 16/01/1975 not 7/11/74. "31.10.74 Episode 18 (missing) 07.11.74 with K.C. and The Sunshine Band The only known complete copy is on a U-Matic videotape." Looks like the dates are possibly a little mixed up on 'Lost Shows' 07.11.74 definitely exists in the ITV archive but KC is not listed as one of the artists that appeared. However KC may well have appeared on 31.10.74 which is missing from the ITV archive

Just checking through the BFI listings and it shows 07.11.74 as a different show which exists on 2-inch Quadruplex to the ITV listing for that date.
Why are the dates so commonly different from ITV holdings in the BFI database?
