just to say the article about Thank your lucky stars is brilliant ,it gives a great insight on how the programme was put together ,no mention of any dance troupe ,so im taking it that when this article was published Thank your lucky stars tv show did not have a regular troupe of dancers.

Jo Cook's dancers must have been used slightly later I imagine. They appear on the final show doing Jumping Pneumonia by Roy C. The Go Jo's also appear on the May 66 edition when the Londonaires do Dearest Emma. There's a few background dancers to the Gene Pitney clip that survives from 62 (Town Without Pity) It's a kind of Parisian setting.

Kev, Thank Your Lucky Stars UPDATE number 5I've been giving you info on "Thank Your Lucky Stars" in piece-meal fashion,so I've decided to go back to the beginning (or as far as I can go, to put things in a more organised fashion) I don't have any info regarding the show from it's start on the 1st April 1961 till the 22nd April 1961 (but I will try finding out if the library can help?) 22nd April 1961 (show 4 series 1) part 1 22nd April 1961 (show 4 series 1)part2

I suspect that local papers would have been given handouts on the show so that they could do write-ups.This suggests that I,too could do some of this work.Drat!

Hi william ,thanks for the offer ,i dont know if you will find any details ,but if its possible could you have a look and see ,if there is any info on granada tv new pop show that started 1st november 1968 called discotheque ,only there is very little info anywhere about this pop show ,also do you know if the pop show lift off, which began november 69 is mentioned anywhere ,in the papers ,many thanks. Discotheque UPDATE number 11I found this article in the Disc and Music Echo dated 7th December 1968once again it's another negative TV Pop show review... I've came across many in my time To follow the "Discotheque" research postings from the beginning please see pages 1,3,6,8,9,10,12 and 15

The review made in disc and music echo might be a bad one William but the article itself is really wonderful ,in the fact that not only does it mention all the guests on that weeks edition but also finally here is an article that mention the dance troupe The Four Spots and as an added bonus for me it also mentions what song was also interpretated by them ,its not a song im familiar with myself ,but doing some research ive found it did reach number 19 in the uk charts ,if only more of these reviews on granadas pop shows mentioned the dancers it would be marvellous .many thanks William for digging out this rare piece of info .

Thanks very very much william for your research on discs a go go ,and the go-jos ,its very interesting to see that just after two months of jo cook forming The Go-Jos for totp ,that they soon got a booking to guest on another tv pop show ,i think not long after this they also were booked to appear on thank your lucky stars pop show under the name and a slighly different line up as The Jo Cook dancers .if it is possible it would be great to see the article on the beat girls ,many thanks. Hi Jerry, Here's that article from Fabulous 208 magazine dated 9th July 1966 sorry for the delay cheers William
