Yes, I believe that Big Hits 64-75 had one of the alternate takes.

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I noticed what looked like that Hollies Bus Stop clip in The Joy of the Single on the iplayer (I think it was on BBC Four on Friday night). Was the origin of that clip ever properly explained?
(It's about 17:45 in.)

Yes, I saw that clip of the Hollies as well. It seemed to be in very good condition so may well have been in the BBC archive all along

I would guess this is sourced from the gentleman who uploaded it onto Youtube a couple of years ago from his 16mm recording. It's obviously been tidied up and they showed the better excerpts of the footage without the artifacts. It's clearly not from videotape, it's from film, the scratchy and vertical faults give it away whereas video usually have faults in the horizontal.

They showed Bus Stop? ? It wasn't in BBC Archives! Ok, this is FABULOUS news if it was shown. When I saw Mark Cooper he said that he would not at this stage (this was March) do a programme of missing believed wiped but found footage on BBC Four at that point, but he would show the odd clip....now, he is coming good with his promise. Bus Stop was the first clip I showed him (the second and third were Junior's Farm - odd I know, but reason for that, and the colour non-broadcast full version of 5.15 - all off youtube). Now, I AM aware that the youtube footage has been cleaned up with new audio added by a music collector (not me), but, it's possible that he could have got it from here (seriously) or another source I know. Either way, I am as pleased with this as the Stones footage. Mark Cooper, if you are reading this, THANK YOU. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've still got 3 listings on my desk and can't find if they've been checked?
1. BBC3 (9/4/66) features The Who performing on 'Top of the Pops' (22.18-26.17) (not sure if this was checked and turned out to be 'My Generation' from another programme)?
2. NEWS (8/11/66) : Brian Epstein Features The Four Tops. (this has a link to totp but unsure if any footage is used)
3. STOCKING FULL OF STARS (25/12/72) Features: EX LIB: Ringo STARR, John HUGHMAN "Back Off Boogaloo" ex Top Of The Pops (3m02s);
4.On Tour With The Osmonds (16/1/74) : Features The Osmonds reheasing on totp.

Another chance to see the programme tonight details here>> www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01nzchsThere were some glimpses of some cool Hollies stuff just before the Bus Stop clip, which, incidentally, looked great and was a wonderful pointer as to what The Beatles might have looked like on their legendarily elusive appearance ... aaaaaah , if only ...
