...and since I mentioned her, here's sandie shaw in the next 2 totp lists

seems a lot of songs in that one, just to say I loved Sonny & Cher back when they were hippies & TV stars, Melanie was fun, Bread were sweet and Badfinger had 3 great singles and a tragically early end for 2 of them..
Day that I die - Don McLean (yes I know its American Pie NOW!)
Son of my father - Chicory Tip
Mother of mine - Neil Reed
Family Affair - Sly & The Family Stone
Storm in a tea-cup - Fortunes
Loving ain't easy -

Telegram Sam - T.Rex
If you really love me - Stevie Wonder
I'd like to teach - New seekers
All you ever need is you - Sonny & Cher
fairly obviously I'd not come across some of these at the time! The Pagliaro track is a forgotten goodie (Loving You Ain't Easy), I was mad on the Fortunes hit (they also had a brilliant american hit in 71 Here Comes That rainy Day Feeling Again, and 60's goodies). Chicory Tip were exciting, that synth sounded so new and fresh!
