I see, thanks. Hmm, I hope this isn't a move away from TV as Network's core area.

It looks like it's just film titles, Laurence. Network Distributing are apparently working on new transfers for some of the films & will start releasing titles in cinemas & on home release from April 2013. Titles include studio pictures by Associated Talking Pictures, Ealing, London Films, British Lion, Associated British Picture Corporation & EMI. Please feel free to post the 'Network acquire 450 British Film Titles etc' story as I don't know how to do attachments myself! British Lion distributed 'Douglas Fairbanks Jrn Presents' so that is a title that may get some attention?

Actually, I was just thinking that Network have done an amazing job up till now of giving us the chance to view again so many vintage TV series (both popular and obscure). There's still a massive amount of material in existence that remains unseen though so I was wondering what people would now most like to see Network release out of all the ITV series they have so far missed?

Ideally, having a second source of revenue might help Network.Wonder if they'll launch a film-only label? 'Network wouldn't quite fit.

I certainly would like to see the release of the 6 part series 'Horace' - a diabetic with learning difficulties brilliantly played by Barry Jackson. Horace was a character who originally featured on Play For Today ten years earlier in 1972. I'm sure it would be a good time (in the wake of Ricky Gervais' 'Derek') for the subject matter that wasn't universally accepted in 1982 to finally find its way onto dvd soon.

These are the plays on the 'Armchair Theatre 4' set. www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/armchair-theatre-0 (Scroll down and click on 'component list'). Gary,I was lent a copy of 'Horace' and the follow-up a while ago.Very difficult viewing because of the subject-matter.

Thanks for that. Interesting selection but still only scratching the surface of what exists! Hopefully others like The Rose Affair will make up further volumes for this series in the future (surely the ABC deal will be extended beyond two volumes?!?). I see Lord Arthur Saville's Crime is included in volume four though, something which was incomplete until now (so far as I knew). If the missing part has been located, it's a very good result!

Lostshows has the 1960 Armchair Theatre "LASC' existing. There's a 1970 version of the play which is missing.
I'm a bit disappointed that there are classic plays in the set-Wilde,O'Neil-in place of original drama.

Was it? Ah, I must have missed that one. Thanks. A previous Kal listing I have says that two reels out of the three survive. So that recovery is good news.

Me too on all those, Ray! Here's a list of things that stick out as obvious for releasing (slight duplication of Ray's posting). I've avoided any BBC / Rediffusion material (the latter as it seems to be problematic to clear, although I'd love to be proved wrong). This is all from the LWT / Anglia / Thames / Yorkshire / ATV / Granada / ABC stables:
The Man In Room 17 Mrs. Thursday The Intruder Anglia single plays (1960s / 1970s) Weavers Green The Root Of All Evil The Odd Man Suspicion Virgin Of The Secret Service Tales Of Unease The Squirrels Diamond Crack Diamond The Frighteners Love Story The Flower Of Gloster Armchair Theatre (more ABC) The Misfit Play Of The Week (ITV version) Mr. Digby Darling Knock On Any Door Playhouse / ITV Playhouse Saturday / Sunday Night Theatre Kate Front Page Story The Outsider The Man From Haven Whodunnit (1969 drama series) The Sullavan Brothers Aquarius The Galton & Simpson Comedy The Complete & Utter History Of Britain Harpers West One This Week More Tempo The Organisation Vintage schools programmes
...and that's just for starters!
