I've been censored on here for saying hello. It's an insult when all this Glitter nonsense de-rails decent threads and no one wields the 'delete' button.....
Reality check please Gorts.

I don't think anyone would be censored for saying hello, Thomas! As long as forum rules are followed (and there aren't many of them) then nothing gets deleted. If people read the thread on rules, that shouldn't happen.
No censorship of any subject is exercised here and the posts on the Gary Glitter situation were left intact as long as they were relevant as regards querying what the exact situation was with his royalties and potential future screenings. This has been covered in enough detail now though and no further info has come to light. So let's move on.

I think they also missed out Eden Kane`s- "Well I ask you" for some unknown reason. That wasn't one of the 100 records that had sold a million - but perhaps it got mentioned in passing, although if so I can't remember why!

Thanks for the clarity Laurence though I did post 5 posts initially on here (two pretty lengthy ones aswell and one saying hello) and they all got 'wiped' because I'd innocently registered as 'Thomas Pugwash'. Harsh to say the very least but we move on.....eventually (in Manuel's way of saying the word) :-)

It's just forum rules, Thomas. That's all. They're here for a reason. Anyway, you got there in the end , which is more than I can say for some other posters that continue to ignore the rules. It's a good opportunity then to say a word to other newcomers that post from time to time: If your messages have been deleted (and there have been several recently) then it's for a reason. Namely, they don't comply with a forum rule or rules. SO NEWCOMERS PLEASE TAKE NOTE: READ THE FORUM RULES BEFORE POSTING! Thanks, folks.

For obvious reasons they will Never be shown ahain, but thia afternoon i dug out some of my old VHS and found loads of GG stuff i recorded of him as i was a massive fan when younger got TOTP, Supersonic, no.73,(also in it is Arnold sidebottom saturday night live wogan, and some very rare material from abroad of him singing Remember me this way , also got the 1975 film Never too young to rock, with Glitter band Rubettes & mud also Glitter band on Gerodie scene
btw, does anybody know why Glitter band stuff is now banned as well, , when Gerry Shephard died in 2003 at 52 , his widow had to speak personally to get a tribute shown, to him, they showed Just for you from uk gold 08/08/74 , but the producer Mark hadgen had to get ok from BBC ok before agreeing to it, even tho None of band were aware of what gg, was up to

Looks like BBC4 are making a documentary to tie in with the repeats! Well, according to Toyah Wilcox on her blog anyway : "This month already I have rehearsals for Comic Relief, the BBC Politic Show, BBC 4's re-launch of Top Of The Pop's documentary" Sounds interesting

re-launch? I'm trying not to get too excited so I won't be disappointed.
A one-off documentary will be nice. Something more frequent would be wonderful.

That's great news. Let's hope the focus of the vintage episodes isn't also 1976. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the repeats does feature 1976, but as far as I can gather, the repeats will encompass a wide spectrum, so hopefully something for everyone!

Given many of us have copies of the EinsFestival repeats (which cover all but 2 or 3 of the shows previously known to exist) the showing of one of the recovered shows would do Given the recent publicity surrounding Kenny Everett, it might be worth someone with influence from here suggesting they make the effort to re-edit 11-10-73 for broadcast as it would surely be worth their while?
